Airgun Capital Moderator .22

Hi all!

I finally have gotten my Airgun Capital Moderator review done! It was a long time coming and I have had really busy IRL. I have to say that for the price point I am very positively suprised of the moderator and how it works. The accuracy is there and it has really good sound suppression. Because it does not have feld lining internally, it has the usual metallic ping on it. But regardless it does do a great job on sound suppression!

Check out the video for more information.

DB readings were as follows:

Control group:
85,0db
85,3db
84,9db
84,9db
NAdb
avg = 85,025db

Airgun Capital Moderator:
79,6db
80,9db
80,9db
81,2db
80,9db
avg = 80,7db

nice review not to long and to the point .

only con i thought was the distance of the measurement device . I have always read that a standard distance is 36 inches in front and 36 inches to the side of the muzzle .

Thanks , Stan in Ky .
Hi,

Yeah, the distance is somewhat one letter size away on official measurements. There is another test coming where I test it that way. I have done the same tests on my other moderators, so don't want to break the pattern. I feel that having the measurement that distance away is better to understand hearing rappor wise, because it shows bigger difference. Close up the db reading is much higher and people might thing that it does not do that much really. Its a bit of a compromise to measure that way, but better to understand at least for me.

I will say it does make a big difference. Testing my rifles shot, if I place my device next to the gun it’s about 25db higher than putting it 3ft away.
