Airforce Talon/Escape CF

looking to build a short airforce .22, but could use some schooling on the platform. if i upgraded either an escape or talon with this:

https://talontunes.com/shop/carbon-fiber-tank-conversion

would they essentially be the same gun (for the 18 barrel version of both)? from what i gather, the escape is a talon, with a condor valve, and the cf conversion would replace the valve in both scenarios.

No sir. An escape is way more than just a condor valve. That air tank is for the talon or talon ss. It certainly will add 200 fps to it. However just a stock escape will shoot 200 fps faster than a talon. The reason is that the escape has a heavier hammer as well as a valve. It also has the ring lok system. Think of it internally just like a condor. Those are great platforms BTW. Perhaps you can explain what you want to accomplish with your build and we can help out. Is the condor too long and bulky for you? Did you like the escapes small frame and just wanted a lightweight tank? Because that tank you had was full size and likely to just be a little lighter than a standard condor tank. Pm me and I can send you pics or help you with any questions you might have. I have the condor with ringlok. I think the power of the escape is plenty for most people.

The new talon 18" barrel with the rimlock valve will work great for those 20g to 25g but you will need the extra hammer weight of the condor or escape..both the condor n the talon comes with rimlock valve the difference is in the size of the hole in the bronce spring holder.of the valve the condor one is considerably bigger n have a wider spring...only consider a scape or a condor if you plan to shoot later heavy bullet..for having the most fun without to much tinkering I would suggest a huma external adjustable reg .. there's nothing like shoot a regulated gun..

Raden942 - thanks for all of that info, i was way off there! i am looking for a lightweight high power .22 that will be suitable for backpacking trips. simpler gun with less parts to maintain or fiddle with. the escapeul is almost perfect for what i was looking for, besides the shot count. a carbon fiber bottle seemed like the solution, but it sounds like all i will need is an adapter, and a bottle i can grab from ebay, and not the entire kit? ...let me know if this conversation has been done 1000 times here already, and i will move my questions to DM. thank you again for taking the time to help

mercado - thanks to you as well, i am definitely moving towards an esccape now. and i will be grabbing a reg for it!

i think now, im looking for the easiest way to convert an escapeul, to a regulated cf bottled version of itself

At least for me the Ebay carbon bottles will not work because they are to thick in the neck n the valve don't fit..you will need a fx bottle or a talon tunes bottle neck is thinner..for shooting light pellets 18g n less the altaros regulator will work..heavier that that they will go to slow..the huma reg goes in the external fill bottle n it adjusts the pressure going in the rifle...I you put that reg into a 1 liter carbon bottle in your back pack..with a line to your small bottle you will have the best light high power regulated gun..that could go from 18g to 30g slugs with a twist in the reg ..if you dont mind about the air line to the escape..

i'm sure they won't work for me either then! just spoke to tony from talon tunes. i'll be ordering one of his bottles now. thanks to you, raden, and him, it saved me about 300 dollars :)

also ordered an escapeul from rl airgun.

i would prefer a self contained unit, so will do more research on this regulator to use inline with the bottle. https://www.pcptunes.com/airforce-condor-regulator-with-dual-gauge-v3.html

but first will do a bit of testing at home to and see what pressure in the bottle is giving me the power i want (once the escape arrives)

Looks like a nice one for sale on A.A.Classifieds offered by Leon M. All new 480 cc and 213 cc tank come with adjustable Ring-Loc tophats. So the Escape and TalonP big .232 valve tophats are no longer offered. But yes they were Condor .232 size. Reg. frames are short TalonP frames and you have Escape SS which is a Talon SS length frame with sound-loc baffles. An 18" barrel in either works well with a Donnyfl barrel adapter.
