Airforce Regulators

I promise that a regulator will not solve your problem right now. The Condor is a light weight( 6 1/2 lb) and very powerful ( about 50 fpe in .22) gun which makes for a very jumpy bench shooter. If you can spend the time now to develop a very good and very consistent hold at the bench you will enjoy your Condor a lot more later. They are accurate but you really need to do your part.

JSB Redesigned Monsters @ 915-935 fps are deadly as a hunter pellet or go with 18.13 JSB's @ 885- 900 fps for birds and tree rats. With the adjustment capabilities of hammer spring tension, ringloc valve orifices, and various fill pressures you can tune to shoot anything, from butterflies to coyotes!

Good info guys, thank you. I though that regulators would help with consistency-precision by consistently controlling the pressure delivered to the chamber. I do notice that I get better groups with the tank below 2,200 psi. I'm going to dial the hammer spring tension down to 10 and then 8 to see if that shrinks the groups with any particular pellet, I'm mostly using JSB Diablo pellets between 23-36gr . Maybe I'll try some of those FX hybrid slugs. I just never see anyone winning any competitions with the AF guns, and multi-shot would be nice for quick follow-up shots. I guess I'll try a few things to see if there's any improvement, but for now I just have to live with the iguanas laughing at me and giving me the finger. How humiliating!

oabdel01...I have a Condor .25 shooting JSB 25.39 kings and getting great grouping. I have been playing with different settings the last couple of weeks and as of right now I am filling to 2100psi and shooting down to 1800 and getting 20 good shots. Avg fps 914....SD 6.8....ES 13...Avg FPE 47.15. My power wheel is set on 4/10...I can get quite a bit more power but I have found that my grouping is best at these settings on my gun...with that being said I have ordered an Altaros. Hoping to keep the same performance I am getting at the moment with more shots since I will be able to fill to 3000psi.

Hello --

Am considering adding an Altaros reg to my AF TalonP, for similar reasons as mentioned above -- fills to 3000 psi. Presently this gun runs okay with heavy brass 88 gram TT hammer, 0.166" transfer port, thin o-ring under tophat and power wheel at 2/2. Shooting pressure is a hard 2250-1500 with JSB Hades 26.54gr and Exact King 25.4s. With Benjamin Domes at 27.8 gr I see predictable pellet drop at ~1750 psi. I too get many flyers until gun is shot down to <=~2300 psi. These are all read off the stock AF manometer, which reads 100 psi over under my handpump. Have some JSB Heavy originals and MKIIs arriving mail today and going try those. Below attached is where I am at now. From what I have read these AF utility guns tune similarly.

All the best -- Mark

For power altaros regulator not good enough if you are only interested in shooting 18g in .22 or 25g in 25 it will do ok ...pcp tunes reg are great for power n consistency but dangerous you need a 4000psi fill ...so the winner by a mile is a external regulator...for high power in the airforce platform...at least for now.

until some one comes with something like this..then you could have a 580cc bottle a high power reg and a big plenum..

Its all about slowing it down and making it consistent. I used a o ring on a guys one time and it would get 25 shot that were pretty consistent. If I remember filled around 2500 and shot down to 1800 or so.

A lot of time accurcy is do to holding gun to hard. They do flex and you can't bear hug them.

I have a .30 condor that shoots good enough to place 11 th at 2017 EBR. I just don't shoot pellet and spend no time shooting the gun. Actually stole the reg setup for my 257. Was out of commission for well over a year. Now its back together again. Reg is set around 1100 psi and shoots 45 gr at 880 fps.
