Airforce Airforce Condor .25 cal newbie

I am planning on buying an Airforce Condor .25 cal in the next two weeks and this will be my first Airforce PCP ever. I have been into PCP'S for around 5 years now and have a decent understanding of them. However, Airforce Airguns are foreign to me. I really enjoy modifying airguns and learning new things. I have a basic understanding of some of the things that can be done but I would really appreciate any advice for someone in my position. Anything from little hacks, modifications, things to avoid and maintenance.

Prices are are a bit high, less than Talon Tunes, more than AliExpress. I buy my tophats and bottles from AliExpress, reg from Huben and the hammers, springs, adapters, fittings from Trajectron.

Barrels I buy from who ever has the cal and length I want.

Inda just slapped the usa in the face so i bet it gets way more expensive soon . Lol. Buy now and save .

I bought a standard 25Cal Condor Series E on the recent sales, and added an AirForce FATS adapter for a moderator. The trigger on mine is pretty darn good, but I can see where it could be better. I dont plan to touch it however, this is a hunter for me so I dont want a super light trigger. Accuracy with 34g FX pellets has been impressive so far, but I havent done extensive testing yet, and no slugs at this point. A set of BKL rings is a must in my opinion, as they are some of the only rings that clamp a dovetail evenly. If you use a regular adapter or rings you will have a setup that is either canted or off-center. The AirForce rail is a different dimension than your standard European 11mm, I think its probably a 3/8".

I dont think you will need a lot of upgrades or extra maintenance on a Condor, thats kind of the reason lots of people are drawn to them. I do plan to add a Hubben reg and 300Bar bottle to mine at some point. I wanted a Condor SS but the 24" barrel version made more sense for my planned use, as I can still get max speeds with a regulator. I plan to run 34g pellets and Nielsen 34.9g slugs so the reg wont really limit me at all. I also removed their new tactical forend, I found it to be bulky and a little awkward. I thought I was buying a Series D, or at least a Series E with the old style forend. But what I got was the newest production.

I thought that new forend looked awkward too. You should not have any problem finding an old style. I have one somewhere. I think I have a Buckrail 3D printed forend with a short picatinny incorparated. I will dig though my stoarge and see if I can locate them if you are interested.

That model comes with almost every thing, the only thing that is needed is the 260mm dovetail to picatinny adapter for the scope .. from ebay.. a shorter picatinny adapter for the bipod, ebay even have the BKL aviable for like $30 .. a wider grip, factory is to small for me . Luthar make a great inexpensive grip $25 ... power wise that gun should shoot 55gr in the 900+ fps , if not and is something you want or need .. then order the factory talon p valve , and buy the Trajectron adapter for m18x1.5 for the talon p valve.. Trajectron has no valve more powerful than the factory talon p valve..And order a one pice hammer to eliminate the second steel factory weight, either 70gram but no more than 85gram with the factory spring no need to upgrade thr spring unless you’re planning to shoot 65gr altaros.. the top hat is the only weaker point in the factory AF valve if they are going to be hammered hard with a heavy hammer, but that is a easy fix with the TT one pice top hat.

I plan to use mine off a tripod sometimes. I added the 260mm dovetail to picatinny adapters to the forend so an ARCA mount would clamp to that. I would not use the 260mm adapter for the scope rail though as your scope will be canted off axis causing angled windage issues affecting your poa/poi at different distances. Here is a pic of my setup as of right now, but do plan to keep messing with it as time goes on. You can see I decided to add a UTG dovetail to picatinny adapter for the bipod since the rifle almost wanted to fall over when attached to the 260mm adapter, the cant is real lol. I also did some crude grinding to get the 260mm pieces to fit kinda flush to the Condor frame and will paint the whole rifle when I am happy with everything.

I shoot my TalonP off of a Tripod sometimes, but I would prefer shooting off a bench with sandbags or a bipod

And for reference this is the adapters I bought. There seems to be many sellers (ebay amazon etc) selling the same product under different brand names and these were the cheapest price I was able to find. The seller accepted my offer of $9 within minutes, and I ordered 3. I plan to cut/trim the third 260mm adapter to make the top section full length after Im happy fitting the rear section.
