Airforce 30 vs 357

I am considering buying an Airforce for hunting in Texas. Given that we have a 215 fpe minimum requirement I have to look at 30 cal or greater. That said, accuracy and and slug selection become a consideration.

Have any of you been down this path and what/why did you decide to do? Realistically, my shots will be within 100 yds but I want the option to go to 150 if I need to.

I also need to mention that I am leaning towards the TexanSS as I prefer the more compact and quieter platform.

Thank you, in advance, for your thoughts!

If you are going to take neck shots or head shots yes either 30 or 35 cal will work.. Taking 100 yard body shots on deer go with 457 or 50 cal....Subsonic kills differently... bigger hole....better blood trail....just like muzzleloader s bigger hole better..if you cast your own ammo....1.00 A pound for any caliber slugs....My2Cents
