Airfoce Condor .22 Accuracy Problems

The smallest 10 shot groups I can get is 1.25 inches at only 40 yards. A decent amount of my groups are more like 1.5 inches. I'm shooting 18.13gr JSB Jumbo Heavy in the low 1100s FPS and it's on the lowest power setting. I've been filling it up to 2600 psi then taking 10 shots then topping it off again. What can I do to make this thing shoot better?

Also, one really weird thing happened to me today. I left it cocked and closed in the rest and had to go do something and came back to finish my group and when I shot, it only sounded like a little “tink” and the bullet was so slow I could see it’s whole flight path and it hit very low. I tested this again and it only seems to happen when I leave the gun cocked for a while then shoot it. It's as if it it's getting very little air or something. But it shoots normally when I take the shot quickly after loading the pellet.

Is it a SS....forgot to ask?
I don't own a Condor but is yours new? Or did it all of a sudden start grouping/not grouping like that,is the breach ok, did you take the barrel off? have you tied any other pellets, almost looks like the pellets are clipping the shroud or Crown of the barrel but something ain't right by the way it's tearing the paper.
Just asking questions to help get to the problem........

It is not new I've had it for a couple years but I'm just now seriously trying to figure it out. In the past I never shot it much (only the occasional 5 shot group) so I wouldn't know if has changed. I always thought it was better than this though, sadly I didn't write anything down. I have never taken the barrel off. I think the breach is ok, nothing seems wrong with it. I've tried H&N Barracuda and Barracuda match pellets, Eujins, and JSB jumbo monsters, but the 18gr JSBs have shot the best. One really weird thing happened to me today though. that gun is unregulated out of factory so fps changes as the bottle is full, half empty and empty, so you need a chrony to find out at what hammer preload AND fill pressure gives you decent shotcount (without too much change of fps) within the limits of the power curve. without that you dont know where you are.
the ring is the poor mans regulator as they say on the other forum. it will restrict the valve open time and also how wide it opens. it also prevents tank dump when too low pressure. it will reduce power when setup right (thickness) and flatten the power curve hopefully.
definitely more things are going on because it is seems what you got is not only about wondering POI, that gun currently is unable to group even for a few shots.

did you filled it full when it had the valve lock? very easy to work on first thing you do is remove the bottle, then you rip it apart and put it all together, for a start
LOL

It sounds like your hammer spring is stuck in a compressed state. When you adjust the spring tension to the lowest setting it should be easier to cock. If the tension doesn't change then something is holding your spring compressed. Did you remove the barrel lately? If you did you might have pinched it or it got bound up when putting it all back together.

The barrel has never been removed from the gun.

"ebigham1"Check to see if its hitting the end cap or the baffles.
That's what the target looks like it's doing. IMHO..
That's the only thing I can think of. Why it doesn't fire the pellet properly after sitting has me baffled. These are pretty much a simple concept mechanism. Pre-load the hammer and let it go. I don't think you can half cock it. Mine never has. The only issue I ever had cocking it was the safety sometimes not move after cocking it. I have the Escape SS but all their platforms are the same.
