Air Venturi Nomad 3 Failure

After 20 months, my nomad three is failing. Since it’s out of warranty, I’m going to try and fix it myself but I’ve not found any guides to do so. Could someone explain to me what I’m looking at? What are the parts are likely to fail?

Ok. Your 1 st photo shows drive motor and crank housing. To the right is the high pressure head and output. 1st thing to try is with unit off open the bleed valve, plug output hose with dead head plug...should have got one with the unit, turn system on and slowly close bleed valve. On a working system it will begin to build pressure as it compresses the small hose volume. If it does not you need to check for leaks around ALL potential items starting with the hose etc...use a soap and water solution and watch for bubbles. This eliminates the obvious as we say in finding the source. Hope you find it but it could be internal to the pump itself.

Good find, hope that's it. Generally accepted rectangular box, high speed fan-cooled, waterless, oil-less, high-geared compressors normally last 12-18 months. Rebuild parts can be a struggle to find and long-term rebuild success is rare, that's likely why this compressor style is falling out of favor. WM
Yes, that was the culprit. Bit of a task to put back together due to chasing after small leaks. For future reference, should we be using sealants on the threads?if so, what kind?

I generally follow what original installer used to ensure no leaks. If sealant, gasket, "O" ring, dowty seal or Delrin washer are used, I'll stick with same. (Some manufacturers include spare parts for this reason.) If original method damaged thru usage, age or dis-assembly, I'll replace. WM
