Air Venturi Avenger Side Lever won’t Lock Probe to the Rear

Hello everyone. I know someone out there has the answer to this question. I’m just not skilled enough to break this gun down… yet.

when I pull the side lever, it will not easily lock the probe to the rear. I have to keep pulling on it very hard to get it to lock. What is the problem and what is the fix?

The symptom usually thas something to do with the sear not latching properly. One possible cause is having too much hammer spring tension. If it goes to coil bind, the hammer could be having trouble coming back far enough to latch. Also could have something to do with the trigger group...a loose fastener or an adjustment out of whack.
