Air Venturi Avenger .25 cal

Try TopAirGun.com. I have purchased two rifles from them and they seem to be on the up and up. Ordered on 12-23 20 and it was on the doorstep 12-26-20.

They claim they are expecting stock on 5/24, but are as much victim of the times as the rest of us.

FWIW, and my situation is probably different than the others here, mine seems pretty quiet. Never a raised eyebrow from neighbors or their pets. Our houses are 60-100 yards apart, and only a few of them.

Good Luck

If you are still looking Straight Shooters in AR. has them in stock..

I just ordered a .22 wood stock yesterday, i emailed them 1st to verify stock status and Craig got back to me immediately telling me he had both versions ..

i have bought quite a bit of stuff from them lately, they are great to deal with and ship fast ..

Give them a shout and get your new gun coming !

I did contact Donnyfl and he said to get the sumo and adapter if I did get the Avenger. Is there a comparable pcp to the Avenger that is quieter?

The Benjamin Marauder is quieter than the Avenger .25 by a lot. No moderator needed on the Marauder. By the time you buy the Avenger, adapter, and Sumo, you're at the same price as a synthetic Marauder from Amazon. I had a few Avengers (3), and they all either had significant reg creep or a leak. Between the three guns, I probably shot Avengers for 3 months. Fortunately, they were all returned and refunded. I have had Marauders for years. The Avenger gets you a regulator, and a bit more power in stock form, but does require a 4000 psi fill to do so. The Marauder is a much better built gun, with parts availability and a long standing American company backing the gun. With mods, it can reach the Avenger power level, but with a 3000 psi fill, there's less power available over the fill. Check them both out, as by the time you get them backyard friendly, they're pretty close to the same price.

What mtndragon said is true, but I think you chose well for a first gun for a couple of reasons. First off, the Marauder still comes with a steel tube and is very front heavy for it. Second, you will be able to play around with tuning much easier with the Avenger and learn how that works. Third, not everyone's Avenger leaks or has had problems, that was his experience and might not be yours. Have fun with what you got and learn. Lastly, don't be too concerned about dropping money on DonnyFL products, you can use the suppressors on every gun you get down the road and all his stuff has resale value. You might want to get a Marauder later too, there are good reasons Ike mtndragon listed to do so. I love my Marauder, but only because I changed out the steel for aluminum and did some other stuff to it but I don't have the shot count of my brother's Avenger either. So in comparing them you have to consider how important shot count is to you too. A cheap scope that works well is the Athlon Talos 3-12 mildot, or the Tac Vector Veyron which you can get either in FFP or SFP.

I did consider the Marauder and think I will end up getting a compressor in the near future. If I catch the bug then maybe an FX! I just thought that the Avenger was better for me as a beginner in the PCP game. I have a lot of 22LR experience taming sound levels. I just think for my needs here on acre lots I will be okay with the noise level of the Avenger.

Thanks,

Steve

Mine was quieter on my initial 1600 reg setting and still made over 30 ft. lbs. I have it at 2400 but I checked velocity as I went up and I gained very little for the last jump from 2200 to 2400, like about 10 fps. I will probably turn it back down to 2200. I like the current 50 ft. lb power level but my accuracy at 50 yards with the 25.4 FX pellets it really likes at 33 yards was not great. Might have been me. But they are going slightly over 900 fps which may be a bit fast. At 33 yards I'm getting nice little groups, however.

My AV has a Primary Arms 4-14 FFP with side focus parallax. Works well. It was about $200. My Prod wears a even cheaper Hawke Vantage 2-7X. It also works quite well and is only about $100. I was shooting groups today at 33 yards and initially had the scope at 7X by mistake. My groups didn't get smaller when I turned it up to 14X. There is also a Hawke Vantage 3-9X that is pretty inexpensive. My Prod used to have a bug buster 3-9X that wouldn't hold zero. Can't recommend UTG. They have had the scope since December and not sent it back fixed or replaced it like they said they would.
