Air Venturi 100 cu-In

Looking around to find reviews and comments on this tank. Here's a summary:

Some advantages are:

1) Slow fill valve allows nice control when filling airguns. (Fills do take a bit longer of course).

2) Small and convenient tank size for portable use.

3) No regulator allows filling to whatever pressure remains in the tank.

4) Has a standard DIN300 connector on the valve (once the hose is removed).

5) Price point is good on the 2017 tanks.

Some disadvantages are:

1) No tank pressure gauge. Must use a deadhead on the hose to check tank pressure (and waste a bit of air). The deadhead does not seem to be included with the tank.

2) Limited air capacity. Seems to be about 10 "refills" for most common airguns.

3) Lack of regulator requires paying attention to avoid overfilling.

4) Photos don't show outlet pressure gauge clearly, but it does not seem to have the usual scales. (Photos may not be accurate?)

5) Hose does not easily remove from the tank. (It does come off but requires tools.) It would be nice if the tank had a Foster Male and the hose was dual Foster Female. This can be done yourself but will add cost.

6) Tanks (at this price point) are 2 years old already, Next Hydro test will be only 3 years out.

I assume this is the bottle that is being discussed?

Yes, they have been on the shelf for a while. The description says that it is 2017 manufacture but doesn't say what month. So if it was made in early 2017 it could be a little more than 2.5 years old... half way to needing it's first hydro test. Of course if you are filling it yourself at home that really does not matter.

Here is another option for a small bottle (98ci) at a good price, no tax and free shipping. Also has two pressure gauges, one for bottle pressure and one for tank pressure. Don't know where it is made or if it is DOT certified, but don't know if the AV bottle is either.

It is confusing the way capacities are discussed. A 100 cubic inch (water capacity) tank holds about 17 cubic feet of air at 4500 psi. It is about a quarter of the popular 45 minute carbon fiber SCBA tank's capacity.

If you look at the questions and answers for filling various airguns from the AV 100 ci tank many are listed as 10 fills. They probably mean topoffs.

The AirForce tank holds about 3.5 cubic feet at 3000 psi. So you can get quite a few topoffs depending on what your chosen pressure range is.

I ordered one of these, it came in an hour ago. It is dated 9/2017.

The gauge has Bar (outer) and PSI (inner) scales.

I filled it with the DayState LC-110 in two segments, each a little under 10 minutes. I used the Din300 fitting on the valve to fill it because the foster male-male adapter I made doesn't quite fit. These imported foster fittings are not quite accurate.

I did get one. The first time I tried to fill it my compressor maxed out at 2000psi. At first I thought I had a compressor problem but I was then able to top off 2 larger tanks 3500 to 4200 without any problems. I called PA and they agreed that the tank is faulty and offered to send me a prepaid return label. I’m waiting for the label. Uj

Well I got the replacement 100ci tank promptly from PA. Fired up the Carette, connected the foster, opened the tank valve and..........same result as the first tank - compressor would not fill above 2000psi. Same problem with 2 different tanks. Tends to lead in the direction of either a compressor problem or improper fill technique except that I again topped off a 74cf tank from 3800 to 4000psi without problem after trying to fill the 2nd small tank. Any ideas? Uj
