Air Tank cradle- best hold down method?

Buy a sent of these tank feet here on AGN. They’re cheap and awesome. I bought the feet for around $25 here on AGN and a $7 nylon handle on Amazon. cj_86 sells the feet.

If you’re just looking for a handle, Amazon nylon scuba tank carry handle for $7, they fit perfect, I just cut off the excess strap once it’s tightened down. The handles are cheap and make carrying the tank so easy and comfortable.

I just read your post over again, I’m assuming you carry your tank horizontally like mine, the strap I mentioned would be perfect. Not sure without a picture though.

Have a great day!

Just put a eyebolt in each corner about 3" in ,then use parachute cord, that's what I had . Think about protecting the bottom of the tank with a plastic boot also . I sewed up a padded head liner (material from jo anns fabric shop) & added velcro to wrap the whole tank for added protection . I can show a picture if you like but that would be tomorrow. .I use a plastic pipe for mine know when trasporting .

I have a cradel also . Darell

A bungee cord is definitely the most common method. Here is a cradle I made for mine using wood and 3/4" dowel rod. The Omega tank is a 74 cf size. The gel coating on carbon fiber tanks leave white crush marks when bumped. That's why used fireman's tanks are typically pretty rough looking. My tank is protected from bump scars using a layer of rubber mesh kitchen cabinet liner material at the base and the shoulder under the wool mesh covering. The tank is covered by two men's knit ski caps stretched from both ends and hand stitched together at the center. This tank carry rig cost about $25, most of which for the blue tank strap and handle.
