Air Rifle Suppressors

Is there a second part to the question?

I have observed that my Stormrider shoots more accurately if I rearrange the baffles in it and I mean a lot better. I should add, I do not think it is because I eliminated some clipping by doing the rearrangement. I believe it was an issue caused by the muzzle blast reflecting off the sides of the suppressor and causing the pellet to yaw inside the tube. That may then have caused some clipping.

If we are talking keeping the entire outer shell I've had luck by replacing screens and cloth/felt with air strippers....or using less screen and more air stripper. In some airguns the barrel retainer, that locates the barrel to the shroud, doesn't allow enough or any air so you lose all the rearward air volume. replacing this part or drilling holes in it can aid by adding more volume to direct the expanding gasses into. Similarly, I've read adding a vent to the shroud, that doesn't have one, can allow it to consume more air which should mean less pressure wave out the barrel. I've never done an A to B comparison with the shroud vent though and I'm skeptical it would make much of a difference if you already have huge shroud air volume. The risk is you create another noise path...but that can be mitigated by covering the vent hole with a felt washer.

I have made a good amount of airgun suppressors in the past. I was using far more dense materials and honestly the performance was incredible. Dont expect anyone to believe me but DonnyFL and huggett could not even come close to how effective they were. I stopped making them simply because I could not justify the time spent and the price people were willing to pay. Was making them in my spare time in the garage. I still prefer DonnyFLs though. They just look nice and do a sufficient enough job. I personal only have one Donny and one Huggett equipped on a couple airguns. The sound is not much of an issue where im at. I made them for not only PcPs but even some Co2 airguns as well. The first time I made one for a Co2 I thought I thought something was seriously wrong with the airgun. It was just that effective. Anyway I was using fiberglass insinuation wrapped around the baffles. As far as the design. I shall not tell.

Is it possible to make the Donnyfl Sumo or Shogun more quiet?

If I was going to do it I would use some sort of dense material to line the actual housing to make thicker. The baffle/s I would toss and start from scratch then wrap the new baffle/s in fiberglass. Best bet would be to have more then 1 chamber. 2, three, or even 4. Considering that making the housing thicker would reduce the chamber space you might want to skip that and just replace internals with a wrapped multi-chamber setup.
