(Match Report by Tyler Patner) 31 shooters joined us for our last match before the Burning River 120 Grand Prix next month. We had some wonderful weather, mid 80’s and sunny made things a little muggy on the woods course. A variety of new target positions and some tweaks to existing lanes were...
Used to shoot there on Wednesday nights, it was indoor and free. Was discontinued a while ago unfortunately. Always wanted to check this out but never got around to doing so.
Yea, they've had the outdoor events going on for some time. I think the last one for this year was Sept 3. I'll have to call and ask if they are doing anything indoors. For now I'll just keep going to the gun range at Pontiac Lake State Park. 4 bucks, stay as long as you want, 25, 50, 100 yard and pistol. Range officers are great. Went to Island Lake State Park once, run by a second party for the state and R.O.s are total turds.
I was a member of WWCC awhile back, but quit when the airgun group disbanded. I had my own property to shoot on by then anyway. Good to hear the airgun group started up again. And if they now have a dedicated airgun range that would be great.
The Sharonville range is a very nice public range, and well managed. They have 25, 50 and 100 yard ranges. The only problem I have with public ranges is that they are geared toward bench shooting, which I do very little of. You can shoot standing as well, but sitting or prone are not generally possible.
We are 1.25 hour south of Toledo and may be hosting a N50 BR match in the not so distant future. I will know more Tuesday if our club will authorize the sanction. Wyandot Airgunners is near us and they host field target and occasional BR matches.
We are now sanctioned to host National 50 Benchrest matches. We have scheduled 7 matches in 2023, April through October. You can find more info on our clubs website Calendar page.
