Air gun Scopes

Hmmm... I have had many types of break-barrels from $80 Walmart specials to $500 magnum springers. With every one the scope was always a problem, especially with the magnums. Over 40 years of air-gunning got me to the point I am now. How much of my scope problems have been from how much I was "tightening" them so that wouldn't move? I am about to find out. Who said you couldn't teach an old dog new tricks?! I am buying a torque kit made for guns, I just learned the average torque is typically around 20 inch lbs depending on manufacturer specs. I was smashing them on for sure.I have a break-barrel that can make 1" groups at 65 yards until WALLA!, the scope breaks one way or another, parts fall off, starts shooting weird and can't be adjusted, you name it. Some last 100 rounds, some 2000. Mostly it just starts shooting weird.

Errggg....Hurumph, Bah Humbug. 🤪

Rings usually max at 17 or 18 inch pounds. My problems ended using Burris Signature Rings with the plastic inserts.
Thx for the reply. I contacted Burris to see what scope in there lineup they recommended for a Gamo swarm Magnum, here is their reply.

"I would suggest the Fullfield E1 line of scopes.
Thank you for contacting Burris Technical Support."

I will get their rings also.

My Airforce Texan .510 is real hard on scopes..I broke enough regular optical scopes on it that im done trying more..I dont know why one holds up another breaks within 3-6 shots.. Im super impressed with the duribility of Sightmark digital scopes..So i cant believe im saying it but for me and my real powerful Airforce airguns it seems Sightmark digital scopes are the most relible and dont break for the recoil..

I recommend Hawke Airmax or Vantage scopes. They are springer rated with a lifetime warranty. BKL or Sportsmatch rings for trouble free mounting.

Can you send a pic? They have a lot of rings.
Burris Fullfield E1 3-9 x 50 mm scope, Burris Signature 2 piece medium rings on my WIN M70 30-06. Rings.

I have many Burris scopes, most of which are pistol scopes. I do use the Burris 4.5-14X Fullfieldll on my HW50. It's a nice combo, but I think it's better for 25+ yards.
Make sure the scope is springer rated,First off!
I agree with the Hawke scopes for springers, they are my go to scopes for springers ,they are good enough for all my needs....plus I got outstanding deals on them.
Yes the Vantage and Airmax are great,I would not go for the lower priced models.
