Air Gun Fun Day is this Sunday, May 29th from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Multi-Purpose Range of Diablo Rod and Gun Club Concord, CA. At 1:00 we will hold an Air Gun Benchrest match.

Air Gun Fun Day is an unstructured event where you just bring what you have to shoot and have fun. We will have some targets set up and some swingers and you can bring your own stuff to shoot as long as it is not glass or is rubber that could bounce a pellet back at you. Calibers permitted are .177, .20,.22 and 20 foot pound energy or less. Most guns qualify. No BBs or plastic tipped pellets.
If you need a gun to shoot, let me know. We have loaners available. Cost is $7 and Juniors under 18 accompanied by an adult shoot free. Eye protection for both shooters and spectators is required.
We encourage kids and spouses alike to attend, check out and have fun plinking with adult air guns. Eye protection required for both shooters and spectators.
We are having our second Air Gun Benchrest match of the year following Air Gun Fun Day. We have several classes including a separate Spring Gun class, one of which your gun will fall into.
We shoot most classes at 25 meters and have an Unlimited class at 50 meters which is quite challenging. You will need an air gun that is calibrated for 25 and/or 50 meters, a good scope and quality pellets are also recommended. Don’t worry if your gun is not calibrated, we have a sight in period which will allow you to zero in your gun.
We have Caldwell rests available. Bring your own front rests and rear bags if you have them.
The match will cost $7 for four cards. Each card has 25 bulls that you shoot one shot each at in a 20 minute timed period.
If you have wind flags you may use them. Benchrest shooting will make you a more accurate and disciplined shooter and make you appreciate how the wind effects the accuracy of your shots.
Calibers are limited to .177,.20,.22 only. All scoring will be done with .22 plugs with magnifiers. Eye protection will be required for both events.
Many folks come to the morning Air Gun Fun Day and practice and sight in for the afternoon Benchrest match.
