Hi.
In order to shoot slugs accurately the bore must be consistent with it tightest part at the end (no choke). The absolute basic staff is to use air gaging to measure the bore:
Pellet will shoot almost from everything - it can seal and adapt thanks to the skirt. In addition to that the chokes in the barrels are there to compensate the inconsistent diameter of the bore.
Slugs, on the other hand require a perfect bore, ideally without a choke as it tends to foul with slugs as they have much more bearing surface.
I am calling out the airgun barrels manufacturers. Could you include the barrel air gaging measurements with each barrel? We cannot advance our hobby without that. Or maybe you are unable to achieve perfect consistency of the bores and we are stuck with pellets forever?
Let the discussion begin!
