I wanted to buy a big bore for deer hunting but the more research i did i found out about .308 .257 calibers and it kind of interested me, i was curious what kind of shot count you guys get in those calibers and is the .308 capable of taking a whitetail or do i need to stick with 357 and up?

A 25 cal could drop a deer with correct shot placement but I'd want a larger hole for a quicker more humane kill . I'd stick with a 357 or up 308 257 get like 8 to 10 shots depending on how your shot curve is set up
