"Pjc540"What are your guys thoughts on the Air Force Guns?
I was so impressed with my 25 caliber Condor (the picture is on this post) I have a Condor SS in .22 coming. The power of my .25 is just awesome, and the Condor SS in .22 will be a very, very powerful air gun too.
I may need to tone down the FPE a bit as these air guns are off the charts for power, and where I shoot I have buildings 500 yards in the distance. A lighter pellet at high velocity will loose it's speed fast and that for some areas I go to is what I want ! I will test CPHP's in the 950fps area, which is just a cakewalk for this gun.
The AirForce guns are not to much in the looks department, and they really are not a comfy rifle to shoot, but they are accurate as heck, and have tremendous power - they make a very good hunting air gun.
Once you get one and get a pellet that shoots (just about all pellets shoot well in these guns) fill your gun up to 3000 and track your velocity and shot count. you will find a zone maybe 2800psi down to 2200 or 2100 that will give you a nice bell curve and that is it. I turned my PW in the beginning to give me a mid low hammer strike force to save as much air as possible and went from there,my gun is pretty much stock, except for the R&L barrel shroud, IMHO a must as these guns are LOUD, and I do mean LOUD !
My bell curve starts at ~2800 and goes to about 2200 for 20+ shots shooting 34gr King Heavies at 965+ fps ;- ) Perfect for what my 25cal is set to do. My PW is set at 5/8 now ......
