First PCP, Hatsan Flash, and it has a gritty feeling when cocking and is fairly hard to cock. Going to disassemble to clean out he manufacturing gunge from the receiver and components. Is it necessary to dump the air chamber if I'm not going to be doing any work in that area?

I would empty it…….I love that the Flash/Flashpups have a simple de-gassing screw. I hate all these guns with externally adjustable regs and NO convenient way to de-gas the damn gun!
Your bolt will loosen up with time. I would also recommend spraying all the moving parts with dry graphite after you clean them. I’ve had my Flashpup .22 for about three years now. ZERO issues, not pellet fussy, very accurate and my bolt is like butter.
