Air Arms S510 .25cal - Hades

I have a .25cal AA S510 on the way and was going through my ammo and I have several tins of .25cal Hades sitting here. Has anyone ever used them in the .25cal with any success? Although this is not what you would consider to be a slug gun, I have seen a couple of videos (one .22cal and one .25cal) where the rifles seemed to be shooting slugs okay, just not super fast. Any experience with the .249, .250 and .251 diameters (and different weights) would be appreciated.

I've heard that the 510's are a bit underpowered when it comes to slugs. I've been using nothing but .25 Hades in my Royale since December of 2019 when I 1st tried them. They're even more accurate in that gun than the JSB's it was designed around. Hope they work as well for you but I know they just don't work well in some airguns. Mine is shooting around 875fps.

Thanks for the reply Gerry. I was going to try to set up my MKII to be both a slug and pellet shooter and realized that it would likely be a waste of time and effort so I bought the S510 for pellets. Like you said, they aren't power houses, but they do have a reputation for being boringly accurate.

"Boringly accurate" NEVER gets boring to me! I came close to buying one once as it seems they're a great gun with a great reputation. The S510's like the FX Royale platform are LOVED by those who own them & know they can depend on them. Enjoy!

Thanks. Although there can be some satisfaction derived from tinkering, having rifles like the Royale and S510 that are dependable and repeatable is definitely a plus.

Hades should work.they are the best pellet in my Taipan Veteran .25 with Lw barrel.

I own .177 S510 carbine walnut 12 fpe version and it is great and beautifull.I think you made a great choice.Enjoy it and don't forget to let us know how it shoots.
