Tuning Air arms 510 leaks

I just inherited an Air Arms s510 with the lane regulator installed. This rifle always shot well but when I received it there was no air in it, I tried to fill it but the air just came out of the barrel as it was filling, I’m sure that the valve is probably open is it a major repair? Also any idea of the value because I will probably put it up for sale as soon as I repair it. Thanks

Cock the gun before filling?

try cocking gun and this may help to seal it , also if you get say 125 0r more pressure with it filling dry fire it a few times sounds like the valve isnt sealing , most of time this fixes it let me know LOU

That fixed it, thanks to all who gave me the advice, that’s why this is the best website and I’m glad to be a member.

Unless there was some radical change from the 410 (there wasnt) anytime you shoot it down low enough it will vent the remaining air. Just something to keep in mind should it occur to you.
