Aim small, shoot small.... might be something to that!

Decided today to shoot at some half-height of the standard Gamo 5x5 targets.

I've always been a fan of the cliche, but nice to get confirmation bias. :)

Sight-in (left) was good enuff for me, now I want to quit while I'm ahead! lol

"Aim small, miss small." The first time I heard that was in the movie, Patriot. I understood the concept for a long time and used the smallest target that I could see clearly. I now use a 3/4" green dot.

Try this. Put up a blank sheet of paper and shoot a pellet somewhere in the center. Now try to hit that hole.

Yup. I've aimed many times at my pellet shot like that. Great suggestion.

Thanks! I do that often, mostly during sight-in. Tape or hang a blank sheet and do as you suggested.
If I'm not too far off, usually in one or two more shots they're on each other.

One can also start a new "bullseye" on a target that no longer has one.

I want x10 on the 10 (gamo 5x5 target) at 25-yards bench-rest, break-barrel, no optics.

I've gotten close, but no self-pat-on-the-back worthy grouping yet.
