Other Ailing IZH46M Update - Achilles Heel

A few weeks ago (In May) the cocking linkage on my IZH46M broke. I had it welded but I guess with the added material, the link was then too long. I did all I could do to fix it to no avail and, I was preparing myself to part it out including the fantastic Steve Corcoran furniture. Two weeks ago a fellow put an add on the AA Classifieds (It may still be there) for an AV46. I sent an email and said I would take it. No response to the email so I called. I explained the problem with the cocking linkage on the IZH46M. He said he had that part and to send the gun to him for repair and while he had it he would re-seal it. While I had it, it always made one heck of a racket while cocking. So, with the repair and re-seal with shipping it came to $200.00. One heck of a deal. It came back today, exactly 10 days after I sent it to him via ground transportation. It is perfect. Silent. Tight. More accurate than before so I guess it did need to be re-sealed. I will not post his name or address but if an anyone has an IZH46, AV46 that needs work, send a PM and the information will be given. Note: I did not buy the AV46…

in this day and age to find help is hard enough and i wonder why he had the part
i would like to see how he handled the front connection because the pin is i believe spun on the ends to enlarge
was the price fair, well it is at the level of doing a Daina 75 and a 46m is no 75 in complexity
but whatever you have your favorite pistol ready to go
i would love to find a new link and see if it could be made on a water jet out of better material the pin would have to be sourced also

enjoy
