Ah, are these baby rattlers?

Shambozzie that’s definitely a serious rattlesnake!! It would pump a lot of venom that one. We get Bull snakes here and they hiss like crazy, and will also rattle the tail in the grass to mimic a rattlesnake. JamesD did the garter snake spew the white digested food on you? It’s a common defense and it’s really terrible smelling lol.
 
I kept snakes for years. Milk snakes I know of don’t get big at all. The remains appear most like rat/corn snakes. The corn snake is generally very timid. The rat snake however MIMICS the rattling and hissing posture of the rattle snake by shaking its tail against dried leaves to attempt to produce the same rattling noise of it’s more feared relative. But in the end, Better safe than sorry.
