AGT Vulcan 2 Problem. Need Help

I just received my new Vulcan 2 in .25 caliber. Today was my first outing with it. Went to the range, got it sighted in at 25, then moved to 50 yards. I shot several groups with it before the problem started. When I pull the trigger it does not fire. I am being careful to cock it all the way to the rear and forward. I can see the trigger reset. But when I pull, nothing. I then pull the magazine out, and it will fire the pellet in the barrel. Then it may shoot good for another three or four pellets and then it will not fire. I pull the magazine out and it will fire. I was playing with it tonight and it fired proper for about 7 pellets, then a no fire. I also noticed that I could get it to fire if I pulled the handle back and forward again (after being cocked already) and in doing so it felt to already be cocked. It would then fire. This is my first PCP and I'm confused as to what the problem is. The gun is brand new, has a two year warranty, but I hate to have to send it back for repair. Any ideas??

I'm confused, when the cocking is forward, the pellet probe is passing through the mag so how can you remove the mag with the cocking lever fully forward? Are you saying the gun fires when the pellet probe is fully back, not through the mag? How can this happen?

No Sir. To pull the magazine out, I have to pull the handle to the rear, pull the magazine out, and then push the handle forward. The gun will then fire. I'm not sure the magazine has anything to do with it. I think maybe pulling the handle back and forward again, makes it fire. I hope that makes more sense.

 I would call the dealer who you purchased the air rifle from and let them know the issue, they can probably help you much better ..

Either find an airgun tuner in your area who can probably fix it in 5 minutes or send it back to the company you bought it from. Is it brand new? It's tuff to give up a gun you have been waiting a long time for but you deserve to have it working properly. It sounds like a trigger linkage problem (I'm not a mechanical expert). Vulcan's are great guns - I have a Tactic - and you shouldn't be frustrated with it. Good Luck.

Is the sear engaging when you cock it? Take the gun out of the stock and watch the sear as you cock the gun. the sear adjustment screw may need a little backing out. It's the lower screw.

i had the same problem. easy fix after watching ernestrowe.com/vulcan trigger adjustment. sounds like your trigger needs a little more sear engagement. hope this can help you out without having to ship it back to the dealer.

If adjusting the sear don't curve your problems, you probably need to add a turn to your cocking leaver. To adjust the cocking lever open the rear top inspection cover remove the screws holding th leakage turn out 1 turn. 

From the sounds of your descriptions you may not be bring the hammer back far enough to lock the sear. Henceforth why it's intermittent. It would all depend on the constancy of the pull of the lever.

2nd thing Ive seen, how thight is your hammer adjustment. Try turning the adjuster out (CC) 1/2 turn. It probably won't change for FPS enuff to notice. Sometime's the hammer spring will coil bind and keep the sear from catching.

Thats what I was thinking. I had an issue with my Ocelot trigger adjustments coming loose just from a short drive to go fishing. Yeah I toss the thing in my tackle bag. Anyway, thats what it sounds like to me. I would look at the trigger adjustment on it. Then put some locktite (blue, not red) on the screws. 

With that said I have a vulcan not a vulcan 2 but im guessing that the adjustment are still the same. First you will have to remove the stock to get to the adjustment screws. There will be two screws with each having a nut to snug them down. I could see this being your issue. Its a very easy fix and if the Vulcan 2 is like the vulcan then you will be able to see the inner workings of the trigger and most importantly the sear. That should fix the issue providing thats whats going on and thats what it sounds like to me. Just make sure the set nuts are snugged up when you are done.

I appreciate all the good advice. I have been talking to the dealer and doing some trigger adjustments. It seems better but still will not fire every once and a while. I will also look at adjusting the cocking lever like Mrshosted said.

Also be sure to check the length of the trigger linkage. This can cause some issues if the length is to long or short and some adjustment will be needed.

Try taking a 1 turn off the hammer spring, It's the knob right above the butt pad. If it doesn't help its real easy to turn it back.

i'm not an expert , but had this problem with two of my guns, it could be a defective magazine or a worn/rounded sear piece. you mentioned the gun shot once you removed magazine. either way , it should be an easy fix. best of luck!
