AGT Uragan

Has the weak link- the scope mount rail already been addressed?

If it has a weak link in the scope rail I haven't found it. And I've shot many thousands of slugs at over 100 fpe in .251 thru it. Most accurate, day to day, no poi changing AG I've ever had. Period!

and the Power and Trigger are highly adjustable. My trigger pull gage which starts at 8 oz's cannot even begin to read it.

Both .22 and .25 are equally accurate.

Wind affects more .22 Cal than .25 and the best to deal with wind is the .30 Cal.

I have the Uragan .22 and just love it. I also have the Vulcan 2 in .25 and .30.

The big advantage of the Uragan is the shot count and also is shorter and lighter.

Both Vulcan 2 and Uragan require a Riser Mount like this one:

You must have a really long neck! LOL!!!! I had to put low mounts om mine, and I'm a pretty big fellow. GRRRRRR!!!

had a compact 22 cal was a blast very accurate had a 25 al full size wasnt that happy with it. getting a 22 cal full size tomorrow so looking forward to it

I hate to hear it Douger. My .25 is unreal in accuracy. But I do only shoot slugs. I've never really shot pellets thru it. ;<)

.25 slugs have a better BC in this size gun that .22 or .30.

I have a .30 on order from Talon Tunes along with the Huma regulator...It is being drop shipped to Derrick (ZX10WALL) who has chimed in on this post to have the Huma installed and get it dialed in for me...

I have numerous FX .30 shooters, from Impacts and Crowns to the Boss and Wildcats and they are great shooters. I decided on the Uragan as it gives a nice balance if power and shot count as well as ergonomics and wanted to try an Uragan, one brand I have never owned....In my experience pretty much any "high end" airgun chambered in .30 is going to give you good results more a matter of what blows your dress up style wise and what you want it to do....I am solely a pellet shooter so all the slug stuff doesn't mean much to me so as long as a 44 grain pellet hits where I am it I am happy...

My next .30 will most likely be the new Cricket and again Derrick will be getting that one before I ever lay eyes on it....He does whatever he does and the gun shows up on my porch, I mount the scope, aim and squeeze and smile....

Anyways... Will post my thoughts once I get my hands on it....I will say with as many .30 FX guns that I own and still ordering an Uragan .30 means there is something I am not getting out of my FX guns that I feel an Uragan will deliver.....Ha, not sure what that is just yet but we shall see!

Stay Well All,

Dr. Mike

No poi changes when you need dead nut's accurate. It might be worth while to mention that Derrick (ZX10WALL), is the factory authorized repair center here in the U.S. and is a great guy and easy to talk to.

You must've really bounced back after having to sell all your airguns not too long ago. I remember Joe Rhea telling us your story and then he disappeared from the forum. Seems like you've owned a new top tier airgun every few weeks since. Congratulations on winning the lottery, you must be the luckiest man on earth.

So why should I install a huma regulator in my Uragan if its (presumably) already regulated? Whats better about the huma over stock configuration?

The Huma although not more powerful as sent from the factory, it has a much larger plenum. with the addition of a simple 22 thou. shim in the stack, it is whole other fire breathing animal. It went form 47 fpe factory tune to well over 100 fpe capable. I have it set to 96 fpe currently and it gets 20+ shots on this setting.

It's a monster on tough Texas Vermin. If I need more, out comes the 200 fpe Talon/Dor .257. LOL

But I enjoy the Uragan and its rapid follow up so much I'm thinking of selling the Talon/Dor and Raptor both.

Douger, I must have missed a lot in the last couple of months. Been busy with 1911's.

who makes the slugs you show in the picture?

marco

He does and believe me he has his casting process down pat.

Thanks Heavy! I much appreciate the compliment. Today, more testing with the Cothran valve in the Raptor. Woo-Hoo!!!

Marco, here are a few different types I cast for myself. Solid, Hp, and frangible. Molds are by NOE and Arsenal that I mod myself to obtain the performance I want, or to make them HP molds.

This is how they preform. they open in a flower pedal style for max expansion. Well over .50.

I Marco, I'll stop boring you now. LOL There are lols more. The 84 gr HP's for the Talon/Dor are really impressive performers.

What, 100 fpe!! Thats a significant jump.
as for your slugs, im thinking of turning a swaging die for my .30 cal. I can imagine its a lot of trial and error, but any suggestions or tips to get me started on the right path?
