Again with the Hatsan 95

I just mine in the mail. I am happy so far. The gun is beyond what I had expected. I wood, the fit,the finish is great.

I really debated with my self about buying it,but I should not have sweated it so bad.

Also no writeing on the stock. I have seen photos with adds carved into the stock, mine has none. Thank goodness.

It the moment I am happy. I will shoot when I get my contacts in.Soon I hope.

God bless

Bobby

Here are some things to consider.
That screw on the fore end, the tiny lock screw is very soft. After repeated use it bends and gets locked into place and becomes very difficult to remove. Replace the factory screw with a 6-32 flathead. You will need to tap the hole. But it’s big enough you don’t need to drill it out.

.

And probably the first thing you will want to do is make new adjusting screws for the trigger.
Mine were too short from the factory and had no adjustability. I believe they are an M3 thread.
I found these screws with the same thread pitch. Cut them to length.

So I got my mount in the mail and have my new 6x24 mounted.

I was somewhat scared to start shooting cause I can't handle bad news, Well I sighted in in with just a few clicks to the right. The scope works good for me so far.

Shooting was quite the suprise. I did not dislike any thing but Crossman pellets. I even have some cheap Ruger Super points and it likess them. I could not belive how well /it shot the JSB jumbo heavys. Shooting was done at 25 yards. I put 6 in a tiny cluster the got excited and changed my grip to end up with a 7/8 in group. . All the shot where stright down the middle. I can't post pictures so maybe you can take my word.

The trigger need more adjustment. I also wish the scope was back a little further back. It is picky about the grip for sure but then again so am I.

So this is my report. I am happy with it. I could hunt small game with right now and I feel like it is only going to get better.

God Bless

Bobby

Happy to hear your enjoying the new gun.
May want to start saving up for a scope with a little more power.

EDIT: I just re read your post. So you have a 6x24 power scope ? I miss read that.
Disregard the fallowing
I started off with a Vortex 2x7 and it just was not powerful enough.
Not sure how long you’ve been into airguns. It’s been one year for me.
I’ve invested a $h!t ton of money into this hobby.
If your on a budget I recommend this scope.

Enjoy your 95. Hatsan break barrels are a great value for your money. I own 13 of them. Well built and with a little time and effort can be a fantastic shooter. Great triggers once you have adjusted them. Mine are at 2.5 to 3 lb. Pull. Here's a great video for adjusting trigger. Mike Ellingsworth is the guy if you need some help on a Hatsan.

Enjoy that beautiful 95

One of the minor dislikes I've had mounting scopes on my Hatsans and I've owned 20 between Hatsan and Turkish built Webleys which I still own 7 of. Because of how the scope rails are, to get my scopes back the way I like, I had to use offset scope mounts, so something you might keep in mind if you want to move your scope back a bit and there are any number of good offset mounts out there you can use if you decide to.

Mine is in .25, stock hand refinished by me, converted to springer after I tinkered trying to boost the power a bit and fried the seals in the gas ram but even for now being a springer, no difference in the fps and it will shoot under inch groups at 30 yards if I do my part.

My 95 before and after the stock refinish:

The 95 comes with a gas ram factory set at 120bar 150bar is max and risky to blow seals. 145 is the most you should ever go.

There Magnums are factory set at 150. Expect for the 130QE is 160. Anything above 173bar and you will blow seals. There are some aftermarket rams that can go to 220 bar.
