AG advertising on PB youtube channels?

Yep - for the first time today I just heard it. Was watching Iraqveteran888's video released today and within the first 2 minutes he is giving a sponsored ad for Pyramyd Air. There's always so many threads on here about when is airgun regulation coming - and honestly I ignore most of it because I just don't see any of that changing on the Federal level. But at the State and City level there could always be restrictions and impact to our hobby.

Without fanning the flames I'm curious if this type of advertising ruffles anyone's feathers. Please try to keep the convo civil.

IMO it's just a matter of time. Despite whatever they claim to the contrary; those that wanted limits, and/controls on certain PBs want absolute limitations/controls on anything than can be percieved as a threat. Threat to what exactly? I'll leave that to you to decide. Airguns in my opinion are on borrowed time. Eventually "just one more" restriction, will find its way to our hobby/sport...

That's a fair viewpoint, but in the past decade in the hobby I haven't seen any restrictions leveled on airguns so what do you base that on?
Well... It's kinda like this... If we as a community insist that airguns are not "arms" , legally speaking; they glean no benefit of 2A protections, and as such could theoretically be outlawed, taxed, registered, pretty much anything.
On the other hand; if it's decided that "yes" they are arms and deserving of 2A protections; our airguns are subject to the very same infringements many have embraced for the PB community.
If one thing has remained consistent for the most part in my short time here on earth; it's that individual liberty, and privileges have become more regulated, restricted or diminished. While regulations, and restrictions have grown, and show no signs of slowing.

Only feathers ruffled are on the pest birds shot with our airguns. This type of topic pops up periodically… Airguns “are already regulated by law” many, towns, cities, municipalities, HOAs, etc. Have rules in place involving anything launching projectiles. You can’t just uncase your Airgun and have at it in any of the above locales. In NYS it’s an Airgun while plinking and target shooting. If pesting or hunting? The NYSDEC treats and defines them as “firearms“ and all rules applicable to “firearms” apply to my airguns. Just a few examples of regulations already in place. Non issue, just use you arms responsibly is all that’s required.

I scanned but didn't see it said. He (IV888) shoots airguns as well. I follow him and several other pb guys.

Hard to get ruffled over a retailer doing some targeted marketing to PB gunners. I would wager the largest percentage of new comers to air gunning come from the PB world.
In regard to the concern over getting regulated by the feds, the more of us there are, the better we fare. Thanks to PA and IV888 for increasing interest in and drawing more shooters to the world of air guns.

Irresponsible? Give people what they want, if there is no profit they are not going to make it, maybe people wanting automatic guns are irresponsible for wanting them.
Society is formed for the greater good. Be quiet and do what you want, there are millions doing just that.
Many of the reasons are not about protecting people, but taxing them!
Do not hold up your hand, but didn't you break some laws today?
BTW,I am not talking about anybody or for anybody
Shout loud enough and someone will hear you, sometimes a muzzle works wonders.:sneaky:

Doesn’t bother me a bit. Yes you may get some local ordinance possibly but for the big picture airguns aren’t even on politicians radar. You have to remember nothing they do in regards to regulations has anything to do with safety. It’s about votes and money and there are neither in airguns. Just exercise your right to vote and get out if you live in one of the peoples republic of “you all know what states”. Be glad if you are one of the lucky ones to live in the US. Remember you could live in one of those countries that are all about taking your rights. Which are actually numerous. We truly live in the best place in the world still hands down.

Agreeing with the trucker. The whole 'free speech thing' we have here means that they can advertise what they want, where they want. Unless, of course, a particular platform has no respect for the first amendment.

As to future regulation, how about we vote for people that aren't interested in controlling others instead of people that are. (Unless there's "free" stuff involved, I guess...)

TANSTAAFL,

J~

With irresponsible manufacturers building and selling fully automatic air guns, you can bet there will be regulation coming for air guns.
I agree. As cool as full auto is, it’s far more likely to attract negative attention than it is to be a useful feature for shooters. From what I’ve heard/seen, people usually do 3 or 4 mag dumps for sh*ts and giggles, and then never use it again.

I'm not sure I understand how it is a company, or manufacturers "responsibility" to refrain from creating, and selling a product that is popular with their clientele.

Much of the fear of knock on effects from airgunnings bigger brother sport, to me comes across like a dog barking at a shadow, rather than the caster of the shadow. If people had been more vigilant in protecting big brother, no one would be fretting for little sister. JMO...

"I'm not sure I understand "
Yeah we got that. It's called cause and effect. The first time some punk decides to shower the local mall, school or grocery store with one of these full auto airguns - and you know they will, every Karen and news media will soon demand background checks and regulation for these "dangerous toys." JMO

Then people need to rifle through their significant others nightstand, find their fortitude, and in no uncertain terms tell Karen "no". People have become so submissive that they'd sooner trade away something they value, than endure some busy-body Karen bleating, and mewling "We have to do something"!
Invariably that something usually has little to do with the offending party, but rather society as a whole, so "Karen" can convince herself she "did something". People need to excersize their "no" muscle...
