Airforce AF Talon P Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for my new .25 AF Talon P.

Best smaller scope, will be using as a backpack gun when hiking so ideally something compact and effective to 50yrd.

Best moderator for sound reduction, have looked at DonnyFL Ronin, Talon Tunes own and the Air Force one, who has one of these on a Talon P and loves the Db reduction.

Any other Mods I should be looking at?

I have a Talon P with the AF suppressor and a Talon SS, .25, and have swapped tanks back and forth so the power was the same. Both quiet the guns but the SS was noticably quieter than the AF suppressor on the Talon P, full backyard quiet where the impact smack of the pellet is more than the gun firing. The AF suppressor is very quiet with a .177 barrel; maybe that or .22 is a better size for the backyard. I think either would be good for hunting in the woods, neither is louder than a stick cracking underfoot.

As for a scope, how about an Immersive 5x30 from Premium Quality Air Rifle Accessories in the UK? Very wide field of view, good glass, very compact and no zoom to confound the holdover guesstimates. Get the Weaver to dovetail adaptor too.

I like the original can on the TalonP carbine. I don't find it to be that loud, and I love how robust it is in how it connects to the shroud. The scope is a Discovery 2-12x HD.

How much magnification do you want? I’ve had a Vector Veyron 3-12 mounted on mine and it’s a very compact scope. Currently I have a Monstrum 3x prism mounted because I’m not using it to shoot long distance. I also have a laser zeroed at 10 feet for really close shots. Dispatching coons in a trap.
The suppressor is a DFL adapter w/ DFL FX suppressor. I’ve had a friend shoot the gun while I stood out in front 25 yds. away and it’s just a puff sound. Next to the gun You hear the spring and hammer. I’ve also used a Buck Rail 3D printed suppressor, which is very light weight and only slightly louder.
Gun is 32.5” and weighs 5lb. 6oz. as seen in the picture with QD sling attachment points front and rear.

Get a super sear and a ring-loc kit. Neither will make it pretty but with those two additions your gun will be more useable and easier to shoot well.

Discovery 2-12 scope is compact, I have one.

As far as noise... a good tune and a can will help. I bought a Buck Rail and it did very little if anything for noise suppression. The Sumo works well on my .177 slugger, other 3 all have factory cans, old style and new. Old style works better.

I have a Vector Optics Veyron on mine. Pretty compact, but not tiny either.
I also have the 6 inchTalon Tunes suppressor. Quiet enough and I really like the way it fits. It looks like part of the shroud. A larger moderator might quiet it down more, but for me, it is more than quiet enough to consider it backyard friendly

Other additions are an ultra match precission roller bearing trigger. This made a very positive improvement to the gun. Big improvement of the pretty poor AF trigger.

You say you want it as a backpack gun, so this one might not work for you, but the single biggest improvment to mine was a MadDog stock. That and the supprssor make the gun 34 inches long and weighing in right at 8 lbs. If that is not too big for you as a backpack gun, I would really recomend it.

I also added an slightly larger bottle.

Amazing looking, where is the foregrip from?
It is two separate units, that I thought would work well with each other, and I nailed it. The front half is a Strike Industries Cobra Tactical Fore Grip, and the back is a Bravo Company KAG. It's nice to be able to adjust the gap too, being two pieces. It almost looks like they were made for each other, it's really nice when a plan comes together.

Best mod for TalonP is Maddog stock with pic rail as @NorCal David and @jmohme said above. Here’s what yours will look like with Vector (4-16x44ffp) scope and Ronin. I also went with larger Condor bottle for more shots. It’s 35 inches long now, 28 1/2 without Ronin. I had to buy adapter for 1/2-20 moderators from DonnyFl

Stocks look good, but I always go for performance over esthetics.

Springs, hammers, tophats, regulators, barrels and plenums AirForce guns have a lot of really simple upgrades. 30 minutes from stock to monster.

I consider the stock a performance improvement. It eliminated any issues of hold sensitivity and makes the TalonP more comfortable to shoot.
