Here's a few pics with commentary that I pulled off his FB page

43" long and 10.3 lbs shoot ready. It's pure Americana and it performs as it should. $640 as shown minus scope & mounts.

The Marauder trigger is a favorite. Dual stage, match grade, and very adjustable. Smooth & wide metal parts are also a plus.

Adjustable comb is black poly... a color queue that ties the Walnut stained stock in nicely with the rest of the gun.

Walnut stained Beechwood is nice enough but there's real Walnut to be found in the price point.

Free floating system performs at a high level with the NY made Crosman barrel inside. Expect half inch groups at 50 yards and sub 2" at 100. The barrel band is a nice touch. In the event that you bump the barrel, it'll help keep things in line.

The Marauder's not winning any awards for its conservative stock cutting but it works just fine.

In .22 regulated expect 20-22 fpe. It'll push a 14.3 grain to about 808 fps average and an 18.13 grain to about 745.
Bringing it to 30-33 fpe x 50 regulated shots in .22 would get power on par with Hatsan & Kral yet outperform them in ES. 875-900 fps with an 18.13 gr would be ideal for 50 & 100 yard wind resistance.

I'll tell you what is wrong, for me, right now. The gun weight - 10.3 lbs! Don't get me wrong, I am a huge supporter of Crosman and I own all three calibers of the current Marauder plus a Prod and several of their other PCPs. Their products are great and their customer service is even better - call their support line an speak with their team, they are great.

I am really disappointed they made the air tube longer to accommodate the new regulator....I wish they would have shortened the air tube to take ADVANTAGE of the new regulator. Anyone interested in a .25 be careful as the barrel OD of the current .25 barrel is larger than the .22 & .177 - the larger barrel OD makes an already nose heavy gun worse. I found this out the hard way.

Apologies for the rant, I guess I'll eagerly await for the Benjamin Fortitude.

Yup, agree 2 pounds lighter is a really good estimate for only the gun. That puts the regulated version at approximately 8.3 lbs versus the Pyramyd Air advertised weight of 8.2 lbs for all three calibers of the current gun. I believe the PA site info is wrong for the .25 because the .25 has a larger OD barrel. The Crosman site does not list gun weight, so something is not correct & I would speculate PA uses media data from Crosman to populate it's website.

If the new Marauder's air tube is longer & has a regulator the weight math does not add up. Note sure we will ever get an advertised weight out of Crosman because the new gun is currently only available via the custom shop.

So I renew my regulated Marauder weight & balance concerns but still believe Crosman is most excellent - as is AGN.

I have my fingers crossed that Steve provides us a gun only weight because his scope choice is most likely different than almost everyone else.

Thanks for the reply Michael.

"fpgt72"I am sure it will be fantastic....little will be wrong with it, and it will be the answer to all of our "cheap" PCP air gunning needs.
my apologies for portraying Steve's review unfairly. I just grabbed a few pictures off of his Facebook page, when in fact I should have grabbed some more. See OP

Whoaa! You guys have been having all this fun without me!

fpgt72 - That's old hat brother... try to keep up! My favorite and recommended budget PCP's are as follows and in this order:
1) Gamo Urban .22 $250-$300
2) Umarex Gauntlet .22 $300ish it seems
3) Benjamin Maximus .177 $200-$220

Chief - pass
Stormrider - pass

parallax - I feel like most of the PCP's I've reviewed weigh in at 9.5-10-5 lbs with a small budget scope (like a 40mm Vanatage), rings, and filled with air. No? FX product and lightweights like Chief, Maximus, and Stormrider come to mind as exceptions. The weight I always relay is what they actually weigh when you go to use them... not the flimflam you can look up yourself on the manufacturer/vendor's web site. The Gen1 Marauder .25 I own and the Gen2 regulated I've been playing with this week both balance out perfectly on the 4" just in front of the trigger. Hope this helps.

Michael - Yeah, what the hell man?!! I pointed out at least 6 detractors on Facebook today and you just migrate all the good xxxx over. You're in trouble Mister!

Follow me on FB ya'll. Always good reading there!

Best,
Steve

MOD EDIT: removed profanity

steve,
Your reviews are the best and I look forward to each and every one. please keep up the great work.
p.s.
I bought my Wildcat .25 based on your review and could not be happier with it.
This CROSSMAN looks like it might fill a hole in my safe and I await your take on it.
Thanks,
Greg

if I remember correctly was the 2nd most accurate 100yd gun .1" behind the raw.,,, ?

Yes the Marauder is a "little" heavy ( at just over 7 lbs) but........ compared to the weight of a RAW at 12 lbs or it's competitor Hatsan all at 10 lbs (even their bullpups are 10 lbs) it's not all that bad. Since being in this hobby I have come to the realization that there is no "magic rifle" that fits all purposes. If you want an off-hand or hunting rifle you will need a bullpup or small carbine. The Marauder leans towards a bench-rest rifle. My Cricket carbine is about the same weight. I have not seen very many standard rifles under 6 lbs other than the Brocock and it leans towards being a carbine with a low shot count. So.........your purpose may determine the weight of a rifle. And yes, I wish my Marauder was a few lbs. lighter and that is why I have a .25 Renegade on my wish list for hunting!

Thanks Greg. I work hard at em' for us... sitting here editing the Marauder review as we speak and will probably release it tomorrow morning.

I LOVE the Wildcat .25 and really struggled giving that one back to AGD after I reviewed it... the "Mr. Rogers" review, lol. The good news is that 2 Wildcat .25 mk2's are on the way here right now from AOA... each with the original Smooth Twist installed (AND) each with an additional Smooth Twist X .25 liner. One for me, and one for you guys to be used in Michael's February RDW.

Dohh!! Did I just leak that?!

...I'm feeling like I got even with Michael just now, hehe.

+1 NMshooter

This is exactly why I own a FX Wild Cat and will likely never own a RAW or Hatsan.

Steve -
The reason I am commenting is to point out that the current unregulated Marauder (which is heavy IMO) is getting heavier and more unbalanced with the addition of a regulator and longer air tube. This is something your viewers might want to understand about the new rifle. For you offhand & especially bench rested it should not be a problem. However, offhand I would struggle with the new longer & heavier gun.

Technical data published by manufactures & retailers is not supposed to be flimflam - if it is, I call that false advertising. We already know in most cases we can not trust manufacture published functional data like muzzle velocity or shots per fill. So we go to you Steve and our fellow AGN "brothers" to fix this functional data problem - I am grateful to both.

If technical data is falsified, omitted, or published incorrectly (my view of the currently published .25 Marauder weight) where does that leave us as consumers? You do provide your "shoot ready" weight, but I need just the gun weight. Perhaps this is something you might consider. Thanks.

The regulated Marauder wasn't unbalanced for me. Filled up and scoped up, its center of weight was focused on that 4" hand pad right in front of the trigger... right where I'd want it to be.

I feel ya on the weights the manufacturers publish. While not "false," they're just not relevant in my world so I don't share them. If you add 2-3 lbs to any of the published naked/empty weights, you'll be in the ballpark of what they actually weigh when you go to use them filled with air and scoped. Then there's the matter of balance you bring up. The Hatsan Bullmaster was heavy on the scale but not in the hands because the weight was so close to my body. The Nova felt very heavy to me because the weight was so far forward but only weighed 10.5 or so lbs if I recall. That's why I like the format of my vids... they tell a whole story of user experience.

VIdeo's up now so we might as well take it over there.
