AEAC 50 and 100 yd groups

has anyone ever wondered which group Steve decides to show on his review? once he decides which pellet is best, does he shoot one group? best of 3,5,10?

reason for asking is nearly all the guns he reviews, shoot similar groups. intro level pcp to high end. any one group can happen. BUT i would think the Impact for instance would have all groups more consistent then say a marauder or gauntlet...

thoughts?...........

You know all the variables that could be involved.... Fill pressure to group selection even after finding just the right pellet. I think the bigger 'issue' is that Steve understands how to get that performance out of whatever... so the best a gun has to offer.... How many 'average airguners' go to that extent. I'm betting not too many. And no offence to the guy I'm about to reference but a poster recently put down a 2240 because he couldn't hit targets consistently at 3 feet (FEET). Only point is that if you are more likely than others to get a know a good gun (off the shelf doesn't mean they don't know its a good one) and know how to make the best of it, well then I would not expect to see too many failures. He's showing the potential….

Steve is good, thorough, and does an immense amount of testing before choosing the pellets. One place where all guns become more equal is that he doesn't tune to my understanding. Whatever the settings are from the factory, that's what he shoots at. Any gun can be good from the factory, but to get the peak of accuracy, you need to tune, so something like the Impact probably won't shoot what it would if it were properly tuned.

By the way, if I remember the Impact video, it shot a 1.25 inch group, at 100 yards, which was better than almost anything else. Also, look at the group. Notice that the holes are all in a straight line left to right, so the variation could be wind.

I've seen other groups up to 2.75 inches and bigger, so I don't think all guns shoot that much the same. He does incredibly well overcoming shortcomings, but saying a 2.5 or 3 inch group from one gun is similar to the Impact group seems to stretch it a bit. Going from a 2 or 3 MOA gun to a 1.25 MOA out of the box is quite different, at least in my opinion.

All said, he spends days with each gun learning, shooting, experimenting, etc. He is an excellent reviewer that tries to get the most out of each gun, I appreciate that.
