Hello all, is there a way to lower the pinging noise out of my AEA varmint? What causes this noise?
It’s almost as loud as the impact of the pellet, so it seems.

Air tube or bottle ?
I'm not familiar with that model but if it has an air tube you put a de-pinger inside the tube with a spacer to keep it away from the valve. If you have a 3d printer you can make your own. A bottle brush slightly larger than the bottle will take care of it. Simply push it down into the center of bottle.

Yes, the ping/boing sound you hear is a pressure wave bouncing back and forth so anything that breaks that up stops the sound completely.

I've never owned an airgun that needed a depinger in the bottle. It's usually an air tube or large plenum and I 3d print one to fit.
This style can't be used in a bottle. It requires a straight wall.

The handle is cut off short and then bent in a loop. This allows you something to hook onto if you need to pull it back out. Just like in the photo. Push the brush to approximate center of bottle.
