AEA AEA Megalodon vs Challenger air tube size

Hey you Air Heads,

Can anyone advise if the front air reservoir on the Megalodon is the same O.D. as the Challenger tube?

If comparisons are not possible, can someone caliper the O.D. of one guns tube, post that and I'll wait for the other O.D. to be kindly provided by another air brother.

The reason I ask is to see if I can fit the Huma Challenger Big Bore regulator to the Megalodon without making a plumbers nightmare out of the gun. It looks like the Challenger Elite comes with a regulator fit that way, BUT, the Challenger has the air reservoir in two parts with a screw joint.

Best wishes and thanks,

Mike

Did you find if the regulator could fit (or if it is the same size tube)?

I'm thorn between HP MAX / Bintac M50 22" 457 with possible pump kit (if I can mod one) over long tube + regulator and the Megalodon, if it is possible to regulate the Meg, this would be great, I've noticed it loses way less air after the first 2-3 shots.

Hi GL,

Sorry for the slow reply but the Megalodon is kind of a low quality toy so I forgot about mine for a while. I have not pursued the Huma regulator.

The biggest problem with the gun is interference between the cocking handle fastener and the receiver. That causes most of the initial low velocity problem.

I think I've decided on Bintac M50 (HP max 22"), I'll print a pump kit once I get a hold on next. regulator kit, it's nearly two times less expensive and I'll have the option to use it on a table w/o a pump kit. The rest is prolly the same quality and considering I can only get Hatsans for the price, I won't be expecting as much as from the Meg.
