AEA Challenger .22 4500 psi upgrade Patriot Jav slugs

I got a chance to test out several slugs at 50 yards, and these seem to work best with my barrel.
I tested,
JSB .216 / .217
HN .218 23 and 27 gr (did well at 25),
Patriot Javelin .217 (various weights), (did well at 25)
FX slugs,
Varmint Knockers (various weights),
NSA .216 / 217 17.5gr

After pushing out to 50 yards, the Patriot Javelin 23 / 26 grain slugs held together best.
My best group at 50 was with the Patriot Javelin .218 26 grain slugs, with the 23 grain holding similar groups.
I choose to go with the higher weight slug.
I had hopes the HN would hold up but for some reason they fell apart at 50 yards.

I believe for the 4500 psi fill to be effective you need a heavier hammer spring. My guess would be with it set up for a 4500 fill those slugs a way way light for what you are tryin to do unless you did in fact tune back the power a bit although that would seem completely counterproductive to having the gun set up for a 4500 fill.

Try some AVS 217 32 G Dish or the AVS 218.3 34 G Dish. After $4500 + in testing these shot the best. The Griffin was a close second. I use a FX Impact heavy barrel & shot them at 975 to 980 fps. You will not be sorry. All others were a waste of money. Also I have several heavy barrels & they all showed the same results. I'm able to get the 980fps at 125 psi so don't overpower your gun. One last thing in any of the brands only Dish based seems to be the only one that works. Some Cup bases were ok . All the flat base including the Javelins sucked.
