Advice on shipping a used wood stock from Great Britain to USA (PR)

Have located a used airgun stock (wood) from a fellow in the British Isles and have both agreed on price.
Only thing left to do is find the most affordable, efficient, trustworthy, Etc. form of shipping the item from GB to the US.
Have done some homework and located an outfit called Interparcel.com that advertise they can do the job for a reasonable amount.
Have any of you folks done business with this outfit? Any of you done this before? Is it legal to ship this item from GB? Any advice?
Any advice, comments, Etc. will be appreciated. Have requested feed back from the mentioned outfit but would still want some from this group.
Thanks,
Pedro in PR

Dont think there are any legal issues with a UK to USA shipment of a wood stock (alone), Pedro.

(Rifle Stocks coming the other way can be a bit of an issue as the guidance on the ITAR restrictions is 'hazy' & the Homeland Security fellows seem to regard anything with a value over $100 as needing an export licence..or something).

As this is a private sale for a wood stock alone, I would say your concerns should be for the 'safety' of the packaging and professionalism of the Carriers. By PR I assume you mean Peurto Rico ? Apart from the extra handling points I don't see any difference at all.

I would tend to go for labelling saying something like 'Sporting Goods', 'Gift', 'No Metal Parts', and a lowish 'Value' (stated on the label). The Value statement would probably be used to asess any import taxes owed (by you). Agree with the vendor a suitable figure and get him to 'rough-up' a basic invoice - 1 to go inside the package - 1 sent to you by e-mail), just in case !

After all it's only a piece of wood - it could hardly be construed as "adding to the Tactical Capabilities of a terrorist held rifle" (or whatever the ITAR wording is)
