Advice FX Impact from owners

I'm new to the Impact.

Was making a adjustment to the hammer spring with a allen key and noticed it turns extremely easy. 

Is it advised to apply blue lock tight to the screw maintain setting? It seems it could creep it's way up or down when shooting.

That’s what I used. With the blue you can still make changes it will be snug.

Blue loctite or Teflon tape will work

Wife's clear fingernail polish works like a charm. Holds fine and dont have to worry about it getting anywhere or stripping the tiny screw.

Blue loctite is what I use. You could also use the thinner kind, purple I think.......it will seep into the threads so you don't have to mess up your adjustment.

Might need to clean the grub screw and the block thread. That’s what I needed to do in addition to multi thread dental floss.

Blue Loctite works great.

I actually prefer purple Vibratite for anything I am going to adjust from time to time, triggers etc. It stays gummy even after setting and wont flake off if you move the bolt later to adjust.

I hope that makes sense.

The 222ms is the purple, works good, I didn’t dare try the blue on small stuff, but it must be ok.

I wouldn't say it's an issue......its just a screw that doesn't tighten against anytbing to help it stay put.

I also use the VirbaTite VC-3 on a wide range of the things. You can't beat it as a thread locking compound for reusable and adjustable fasteners.

I was just trying to tune my Impact MKII for slugs and noticed velocities were moving around without touching anything. I remembered this thread and check the hammer spring. You guessed it! Thanks for starting this thread. I don't know how long I would have been scratching my head trying to figure out what was going on. Im getting somewhere now! Thanks,

^^^ Designed for firearms and designed to be loosened and moved without need cleaning and reapplication - think of it as a nylon locknut that you can apply to any fastener. You need to follow the instructions though - apply, allow it to completely cure and then reassemble.

I only use the purple on the tiny set screws. The last thing you need is to have the head of your set screw strip out.

I tried using blue loc tite but after a while and making adjustments, I noticed that it was starting to "gum up the works" so now I use white teflon tape. 

Stays cleaner and holds. Dark grey teflon tape tends to shred off. White for some reason works the best.
