advantage of one scope mount type or another

Hi I may need to by some mounts in 344 for my possible new scope and was wondering if there is any advantage to one style of screw location or the other

Straight up and down or with the rings on a diagonal

My only thought is that you might want to utilize the pic rail on the Eagle Vision mounts at some point.

they are the same price. I like the ones with the rails because they versatility, I just wanted to make sure I was not missing some advantage to the diagonal ones other than some prefer the look

Eagle Vision INS-30 can add an picatinny side rail bracket at 45 degree offset on the ring.

We have had both and the rings with the diaganol screw holes are cleaner, nicer looking rings. They are a little pricey but well worth it. They come with extra locking screws for once you’ve got them at the right height, you screw down the additional screw and it locks down the settings. They’re smooth and precise and they are just rock solid. Both will serve you well, we just prefer the look of the diagonal system and we didn’t need the extra picatinny space.

I have the INS-30 and love them. I prefer the looks of the diagonal much better than the other ones. Also don't need the added picatinny mounts.

I have the INS30 rings they are extremely well made! Will buy another set for sure.

I prefer straight (not diagonal) rings. If you want to bed or lap rings, the process is easier, particularly if you're bedding to get your mechanical adjustment center at 'zero' for some range. Also, I'm a big fan of one-piece base/ring mounts and I've never seen one with angled rings.
