Adjusting Diopter

You have to have a lighted scope for this adjustment,, But a very easy way to adjust your diopter , Be in a dark place or sometimes I just close the scope cap, adjust your scope to highest power and turn the light of the scope on now adjust you diopter to get the clearest reticle, Works for me.
Now let me clear this up before I get crazy post, Keep the rear cap open and close the front cap,, I hope that helped the confusion , LOL.

This works. I just tried it on a scope that was focused in the daylight, marked it's setting and took it out of adjustment, and with the lighted reticle returned the diopter to the marked spot.

Many don't realize this needs to be done !
Both regular scopes, AND prism scopes.

In your first sentence you said “be in a dark place”. When I get up in the morning I look at the news on my ipad. That definitely puts me in a “dark place”. Takes a cup of coffee and some pondering to get out of that.
