you can do wet or dry
for that small setscrew I would recommend let it dry first otherwise the torque will be too high next time want to remove.

Caution: I used blue Loctite. Later, when I had to change probes. I had to apply some heat to soften the material. I was afraid to apply too much torque to that teensy-weensy grub screw. I stripped one before.

this is what the locktite rep told us at the old power plant, but we are free to try what we like,,I have heard of using a rubber cement for elec connections, but have not tried it yet, myself

Threadlockers are anaerobic chemicals. They only cure in the absence of air and in the presence of active metals such as iron, steel, and copper. Threadlockers won’t cure sitting out in the open air. The curing process only begins after you tighten up your fastener, which squeezes out the air. If you apply the threadlocker and wait for it to dry or get tacky, you’re just wasting time and risking contamination. With threadlockers, you can apply and install right away.

I’m having the same problem. Has anyone tried purple loc-tite? I have tried putting a little Teflon tape on the screw (only put 2-3 wraps maybe more would be better) didn’t help I tried putting a small piece of o-ring cut in half in the bottom of the hole in the probe, didn’t help. I just re-tighten it every couple mags at this point.

I have seen the green wicking 290 be a bear to get apart, without heat,,test on something else first to be cautious, you know like a small screw and nut close to the same size

I went ahead w VibraTite. Figured I’d it wasn’t enough I could go w Loctite.
VibraTite doesn’t dry hard but gets real tacky. Hoping it will hold.
