Added a little bling to my Brocock Sniper XR

I wanted a little color on my Brocock, so I went the cheap route and painted it.

The result! I used 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of the clear coat. I allowed at least six hours between coats so the paint/clearcoat would set.

Looks good. Is that a rubberized textured stock? Be interesting to see how long it stands up if it is.

I really like how it turned out! A heck of a lot cheaper than a Ceracote finish. It looks like you have about $10 and and your time invested it this project. Kudos to you. Are you accepting orders for new work?

it’s a hard plastic. I’m hoping it holds up a while with the 3 layers of clear coat.

I'll assume you're a Navy Vet. I was with the Dept of the Navy, men's dept of course (USMC) .

Nice work for sure, all the rust removal paid off nicely.

I just picked one of these up in 25 Cal with an Aztec 5.5x25X 50 scope, which did you get? Have you tried slugs yet? If yours is a 25 Cal, how many shots are you getting from a fill?

I only have a couple mags through mine, not a real high shot count, I'll put a few though her and see if it improves.

I painted professionally for over 20 years, everything from planes, trains and automobiles (well, I’ve never really painted a train) and I think you did a great job, that really looks good. I hope you cleaned it good with denatured alcohol or something similar before you started.

Yes, I cleaned it thoroughly with denatured alcohol twice before painting it. Great tip though for anyone thinking of going this route.

As much as I like it in black, I must say that tanning job looks really nice!

I like your choice of paint. I too, have had good luck using Rust-Oleum
