adaptor for modulator

i don't want to spend alot but I would ike to have an adopter to put a mod... on my 2240. i would think anybody with a decent lathe could center drill a bolt of the right size,
Am I missing anything here.? I can't see 40 or 50 bucks for an adapter

Thank you for your replies. The reason I asked about an a dapter is because I have the Moderator aready.
I had hoped To use what I have already. I an going to order a mod when I get some money.
