Does anyone have any experience with the small Acecare bottles? The 0.35L carbon fiber looks like it could work on the Impact if you wanted to make it into a compact. The FX 300cc is 190mm and the Acecare is 235mm which is basically 1 3/4 inches difference. The Acecare is obviously longer, but it might still be OK with the short barrel? Probably have a hard time getting the moderator on by the looks of it, but that's not really part of the compact thing anyway. I'm buying a 2.17L bottle from Ace so I thought I might get the little one while I'm at it in case I want to turn the Impact I have on order into a compact at some point. They're $77, so why not? Add a valve for $100, get the barrel kit and I'd be good to go, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong or being crazy.

If you use an LDC it won't matter, if you don't the bottle will stick out about 1.5 inches more than the barrel.

I'd be More worried about the bottle neck shoulder clearance. If you wait till tomorrow I can try to see if it screws all the way in. I have one of them and the FX valve but haven't screwed it into any of my Impacts yet after looking at the shoulder of the ACE Care eyballing looks DAMN CLOSE!

When using any of the acecare cf bottles (.35,.5) for the impact, you will need to mill off the top portion of the Picatinny rail at an angle to accommodate for the shorter neck it has. You can do it with a mill or just use a vise and file.

What if you just put a 0.08 cent washer as a shim spacer between the bottle and FX Valve? May have enough threads to allow for reasonable margin of safety when the valve is clinched tight with proper tool?

This is a really wild hair idea. I bought an external in line regulator that would shim the bottle out way past that questionable shoulder clearance anyway.
Open the AMP reg to 120BAR and the external inline bottle reg to 90BAR and use the factory piping as a plenum.

I feel like I’d want to spend more than $0.08 on the washer but I like where you’re going with this. Filing down the Impact isn’t something I really want to do at this point in my life. I’d probably just spring for the FX bottle.

If you machine the pic rail piece on the IMPACT you may find it difficult to fit a bipod.

So, all of this is spacer? Like, 8mm thick? What Impact configuration are you using there? Or is it just a Best Fittings bottle?

Between my arrows is the spacer, your arrow is the valve itself which screws into the spacer, you need this amount of spacer with the ACECARE bottle to fit the STANDARD FX rail.

I believe you, I'm just making sure I understand. While I know it doesn't make sense, looks like the part between your arrows is the FX Valve because of the hole in the side of it. See photo. Anyway, you are saying that that bottle will take a spacer and still work on the Impact without milling the bipod rail? Which bottle is mounted to the blue Impact?
