Accu-Tac WB-4

I'm thinking of buying my first high end bipod and I've been looking at this bipod. I'm undecided between this bipod and Accu-Tac HD-50. I want this bipod to used on both my air rifles and my powder burners. I'm leaning towards the WB-4 because of the quick detach feature but I do like the robust design of the HD-50. The heaviest gun I have is my .243 bull barrel which weighs about 12 lbs with scope and ammo

The WB-4 was my first quality bipod. It’s a heavy duty bipod for sure compared to a number of others I’ve used. I like it. It’s solid, easy to move from rifle to rifle, and provides a stable base. I have one rifle that I haven’t been able to the fit the mount onto the rail on an adapter, but it’s not really a bipod gun. Try to catch them on sale. That was tricky for me. I waited months for a decent sale. I’m not familiar with the HD-50. The only thing I have to be mindful of is not losing the rubber feet. If I’m not careful or don’t loctite them in they tend to loosen up on me and I’m afraid they’ll fall off in tall grass or brush. I believe that the WB-4 can easily handle 12lbs with no problems. It feels robust enough for use on PB, but I don’t know how they handle heavy recoil. My $0.02.
I posted a photo of it on my Brocock Bantam Sniper HR in the thread below. I estimate that the this setup on the gun without the bipod is around 8-10lbs tops. The WB-4 bipod is not light. https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/broke-out-the-brocock-bantam-sniper-hr-and-put-her-back-on-the-table/?referrer=1

Edit: I just looked at the HD-50 specs. That thing is hefty and designed for 50 BMG recoil. I think it’s overkill for your stated application. You should be just fine switching the WB-4 from an air rifle to your PB. There’s really only a roughly 5 oz weight difference between the two models with the HD50 being slightly heavier according to the specs on Accu-Tac’s site.

With supply shortages an issue with everything now a days, I think I'm going to order the WB-4. Never know if they will run out and won't know when it will come back in to stock. Another thing with supply shortages and high demand, I doubt there will be any sales on them for a long time.

True. If you take no issue with the price I doubt you will regret your purchase.

We have quite a few Accu Tac’s, they’re all great bipods, very robust and super well made, the HD50 is just big! The WB4 is our favorite, it’s smaller in stature, still wide, secure, stable and well made. I was talking to Felipe the other day and even he said the WB4 is one of his favorites. It’s just a super bipod!

Slight off topic...what's that fancy looking moderator you got there? I think I read 0db on it but could be wrong.
