Accu-Tac FC-G2 vs. SR5-G2

I has seen photos and reviews of the FC-G2 compared with the SR5-G2, but had a hard time visualizing how it compared to the SR5-G2. Like Mr. Miyagi once said, different, but same!

I have the fcg2 and love it.

Nice! It feels very solid. I was happy with the SR5, but wanted just a tad more stability for shooting paper. I started looking at other bipods (RPS MKII and some others), but I really dig the feel and ergonomics of the Accu-tacs and went all in with this one.

I also thought about getting a BR4, but the weight is only 2oz less than the SR5. I'm considering swapping legs between these two, which would essentially give me a BR4 and a long legged FC-G2 lol.

On of the things I liked about the Accu-Tac's was the ability to buy 2 models and get 4 different bipods out of them by simply switching the legs. You have a nice combination there and should have no problem swapping the legs back and forth. I keep hearing of people wishing for longer legs on their FC-G2's lately and plan on passing that on to the owner when I talk to him next. I'd actually like to see them offer just a pair of long legs as a purchase option.

That's a pretty interesting comparison pic. Thanks for posting it! Once I put the Gen1 BR-4 legs on the old FC-10 (wide) chassis. I called it the TC-10 (TomCat). It was super low and super wide. It actually ended up being too low for practical use. That was probably around the same time the owner was working on the new FC-G2. LOL!

Yeah they totally went from super long legs to kind of short, eh?

You bring up a great point - I shoot uphill a lot more than downhill / level ground, I can see myself needing the SR5 legs on this FC-G2 95% of the time. I'd really prefer to keep the SR5 "as is" though, and use it for hunting situations. Swapping legs back and forth is going to get old - quick, plus I'd rather not incur them wear and tear from doing so!

I might reach out to them as well about an extra set of legs. Guessing they'd run a couple hundred bucks if they were SKU'd 🤔

Got to use Centercut 's last week (top one in the picture). OMG did I LOVE it! So fricking stable I couldn't believe it. I always figured a bipod was a bipod .WRONG. I just can't justify

$350-$400 for a bipod on my fixed income. Man I'd love to have one. Thinking about selling one of my guns just to get one of those.

Yeah the full retail stung a bit. Plus my state has 10% sales tax 😬

I often wonder why they don't make all their bipods max height higher anyway, seeing that the legs can be deployed at a 45 degree angle and can be adjusted in. I shoot prone off the bipod more often than not and if the bipod is too low my neck gets kinked.

This is my only complaint with my heavy duty LRA bipod, I can't get it high enough to engage the higher targets up on the hill where we shoot but I appreciate how stable it is compared to a Harris.

I might consider the LR-10 G2 for these reasons even though it's heavier.

I'm with you 100%. The redesigned FC bipod must have been for flat bench shooters in mind (probably accounting for 9 out of 10 people that use them).

Very nice! I looked hard and long at the FC-G2 but there lack of info on the actual percentages of pan and cant made me look elsewhere. Granted I still can't find the info but I was interested right before they were getting released. I did end up going with a Sierra S7 bipod which is a similar design but huge amounts of pan and tilt. Also alittle cheaper at $340 shipped. I would still like to try an Accutac

Nice, I was looking at those as an alternative to the RPS MKIIs. Did you get the Raptor feet?

Thanks for the answer mtnGhost. I bought one with pan and tilt. (cant) It seems to work nicely. I have so far just used it as I installed a K&L cheekpiece. I have used the built in bipod on a Steyr Scout rifle mainly to stack it up in hunting camp, so it doesn't fall on the ground from a leaning position. But I will get in some shooting this week and It will help immensely. I almost have my FX Impact set up to go. I bought the Impact from Ken at SPAW in FL. He's a good guy to buy from. He tuned the rifle up for me with no additional charge. I should have bought it with an optional bipod but you guys helped me round it up. Be Well. Bandito

I just received my Accu-Tac FC-G2 today, and all I can say is I too am guilty of thinking a bipod is a bipod. I have an FX Impact X on a genuine Atlas PSR bipod (the leg outer sleeves don't spin freely on the PSR), so I thought I had about as stable of a bipod platform as you could have. I haven't shot off of it yet, but just static sighting with the FC-G2 feels like it's a whole next level of platform stability, especially the cant lock-down. My initial impression is it's definitely a "buy once, cry once" piece of kit that's worth that salty price. I hope I feel as good about it after I shoot from it.

On a side note... many thanks to TomCat for the detailed review of the Accu-Tac products. The info you presented was key in my purchase decision. Just wanted you to know the information you present is both useful AND appreciated.

I won't be able to shoot off the FC-G2 until tomorrow, but I can tell right now I'm going to have to sell my Atlas PSR and buy another FC-G2. I made the mistake of telling my wife to sit down at my Impact with the FC-G2 on it and see how stable it is. Her Impact, of course, was the recipient of my Atlas PSR when I ordered the FC-G2. That took her Impact to a genuine Atlas from a knock-off clone, and I thought she'd be happy with that improvement. She was, as she saw marked stability improvement going to the genuine Atlas. However, she felt the same major improvement again over the Atlas with my FC-G2. Expensive mistake on my part! Her words were "you can't put one of those on your gun and not mine". Let me tell you folks something... my wife is a penny-pincher. If she's willing to let me buy a second FC-G2 bipod for her, consider that bipod endorsed as worth the cost.

We're going to be at the Pyramyd Air Cup Benchrest competition in a couple weeks. You'll probably recognize us. We'll be the husband and wife sitting at the bench with great equipment kits, but not shooting, because we can no longer afford to buy pellets. I really thought it would get cheaper coming over from powder burners. Who'd have thought.

Seriously, though, I got my wife involved in airguns with my father and I as a way to spend more quality time doing things together, instead of me off doing my hobbies without her. That makes it worth every penny I've spent. Maybe we'll meet a few of you at the Cup.
