AAA Evol Restoration

The Evol is back together again, has some battle wounds but performs good as new. I made a visit to the AAA facility where Tom was able to take a look at the rifles damage and discuss his thoughts. He was able to get it back together and replaced the dented shroud. Plan to get out and do some hunting with it in the next week.

It’s refreshing to see a responsive manufacturer take note of this sort of treatment/testing of their product. Does something like the torture test inspire any thoughts on design changes that can improve upon a pretty solid base design? Is it enough to inspire or explore re-designing something as small as a recessed foster fill port in future iterations? I find it interesting to see how manufacturers interact with influencers and consumers.

Interesting tests and results of the AAA build quality. I use a AAA .357 Slayer for hunting. It just emits quality in every way, and I really enjoy taking it on the hunts. I cast slugs for it and plink at the range for fun with it too. It always draws a crowd. Some from just being a quite air gun they have never seen but also others from the very tight groups at 100 yards it produces. Thanks, Tom for building such high-quality air guns. It is really appreciated.

Did you pay for the repairs? Or did he repair it under warranty?

Warranty? 👀

If warranty covers all that he did, my next .22 will likely be an Evol.

I would have gladly paid $100 for a new shroud but he kindly covered it. I could have done the work myself but thought it would be cool for Tom to take a look at it and to film him getting it back together. He's a really nice guy and am lucky to have him as a friend, I've learned so much. He definitely builds these with torture in mind as he uses the products just as hard as anyone.

I think it was good that you had Tom go over it for future reference and feedback. I'm not sure how much more he could improve on though. They are finely built guns. I know you could have done it yourself. They are so easy to work on. I love both my Evol 30 and Evol Mini 22. I'm currently communicating with Neil Clague to have him make me some moderators for both guns and to work in conjunction with the shroud. No DonnyFL adapter.
