AAA EVOL .30 Magnon VS FX Impact X MKII .30

It will fit well with your Edgun. It is built more like the Edgun than most other guns. The trigger is excellent. The bolt is very nice, not as easy as the Impact but the Impact action is stupid easy. All metal magazines is real nice. Get a couple extras. I got 3 total. I load up all thee and then I refill the gun when they are empty. Get high rings for the clearance on inserting the mags. I have the FX adjustable and they are just the right height.

Great info. Thank you.

Can you provide a link or exact product # for the rings youre talking about?

That's a tough one if price is out. I have both the .30 cal Impact II and the.357 Slayer. I'd say a prepper would go for the Evol. The one that wants it all that doesn't own a pipe wrench would pick the Impact. They both will drill small ragged holes as well as you can shoot. If you are going to go all out on a AAA gun, have the barrel lapped, too.

Thank you.

Do you think the Shogun at 1.6" X 8" vs the Sumo 1.6" X 6.25" may be more appropriate for the Magnon as its a .30 pushing out more air? Or would it not be noticeable? I am ignorant on air suppressors. I have plenty of experience with center fire cans though - so imagine same principles apply etc?

Just throwing into the mix as I've had my .22 Evol Mini for a few months now and have dug into it a few times. Also - me and one other guy are the one's who posted the Law Tactical folding adapter. I agree the XLR looks pretty nice and lightweight compared with the Law. The Law does have a ball detent that helps keep the stock folded, not sure I see that in the XLR or not, but a significant cost savings.

I don't own an Impact as it comes across to me as a delicate airgun. Yes it can be tuned amazingly, but I feel like a little bumping around could also throw that all off. I like things a bit more rugged.

The Evol is definitely a rugged beast. All AR compatible parts so there are tons of options out there. The barrel is as sturdy as one could want and is threaded very solidly. The trigger is amazing. The magazines are very nicely made.

Some things to note:

- LOUD - the Evol is a loud gun. I am using on a Shogun .25 on my .22 mini. Shooting the .22 Mini with 18gr JSB at 875 fps the Shogun takes it down to backyard friednly-ish. I still find it a touch loud when neighbors are around.

- Rings - I had to use Seekins Extra-High 1.26" rings to clear the magazine.

- Adjusting the reg in a bit of a pain. You have to remove the barrel and under rail to remove the air tube. But once you're done it's only a matter of tuning the hammer spring.

- I've shredded a few probe o-rings when the first pellet wasn't loaded cleanly into the mag. I now make sure the first pellet is seated smoothly for best cycling.

- The tensioned barrel mount is so stable that I have not had to re-zero the scope after removing and re-installing about 8-10 times during tuning.

- The .22 barrel is NOT for slugs. Shoots the JSB best, not so fond of the H&N 21gr Barracuda Match.

In summary this is the most accurate and precise airgun I've ever owned. It's also the most expensive, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another AAA. I am also 6 months into the waiting list on a .357 Slayer.

CTShooter,

You are correct on all accounts. So far I have not ruined a probe oring or had to tear into my gun. I am one of the lucky ones who has a 375 Slayer. I got in on the 1st run of them so I have had it for a while. You will Love the Slayer. My only issue with the Slayer is it isn't as comfortable to shoot for me. The Evols just fit me great.

Thank you for the info! Ya, I will be buying a can - potentially the Shogun for it. Good to know about the tuning. Question on that....What pellets do you think would run great with it out the box? No tuning. We touched on the JSB 44 - anything else?

Also,

What scope are you guys running? I am now considering just sucking it up and buying an 4x32 NX8 for it.

That's what I am running. Amazing scope and really opened my eyes to high end optics. This whole package was a COVID treat to myself to keep my own sanity.
