AA S510 XS - Chrono tests

Thanks for the info guys!!

I went out and got the rifle zeroed at 35 yds (indoors). Super accurate! On the way home I got a message from a farmer (my first and most fruitful permission) asking me when I though I'd be out again.

I told him I was planning on coming out tomorrow morning, and he told me that there have been lots of skunks and raccoons on the farmyard.

To the point.....I checked the weather and the rain is supposed to stop at midnight, so I'll be hitting the road in one hour and pull an all-nighter.....for sure there will be skunks getting shot.....we'll see about the raccoons as to if they are causing damage, otherwise I can't actually "hunt" them.

The Streamline will be doing night duty with the X-Sight, while the S510 will see action during the day with the Side-Shot going for sure!!

I'm going to be tired for sure during the day, but I hope I don't sound too bad during the video like I did last time.

Have figured out at what pressure does it fall off the reg?

Just curious!

James from Michigan,

I just got done at the range....I filled the gun to 250 bar at home and just prior to shooting (43*F) I checked the gauge and it read 240 bar.

At 76 shots on high power, the best I could tell is that it fell off the reg at 125 bar.

That sounds about right for the .22..

I wonder if they bumped it up a little for the .25.

Would be interesting to know if it really is a huma reg. and can be adjusted? Although there's no hammer spring adjustment you can shim it or I suppose could go with a slightly stiffer spring for a little more power.

Just rambling and thinking that the .25 version would be a perfect gun at say 50fpe.

Let's see those slugs in action I'm so hoping they shoot well !!!!

Daystate reccomends shooting for consistency at 40 bar below the max fill pressure in it's manual, does the AA manual say anything like that?

You may be onto something here. I just did a full shot string and got 90 shots from 250 bar down to 125 bar.....but the ES was miserable....108.

Then I tried it from 195 bar down to 125 and got better ES, but only 50 shots. Here's the chart.

I have about 400 pellets through the gun, 200 from just tonight over the Chrono. Seems the reg should be broken in by now, but the performance is lacking. Can't be a Huma reg in there.

I would expect that an unregulated S510 would give a curved shot string the same as that. Very disappointing for a factory fitted regulated rifle, Huma or otherwise.

I have to agree.

Oh no...Bob, could the XS need more than several hundred shots to fully seat the regulator? Were these data collected with your suppressor fitted? I’m not experienced enough to know if that could be a factor or not

I'm more than a bit concerned to see if mine underperforms in a similar fashion. I mean the whole point of spending the "X"tra money on the XS was to get a seriously well regulated rifle without having to monkey with its guts.

BTW just curious Is your tank gauge of such a scale that you can more or less accurately record pressure after each shot? Just thinking ahead about my own testing.

Hey Bob_O, nice gun I've eyed these guns when they first announced them. Had a previous model ultimate Sporter and shot great. I do have a question for you. What's the max fps you can get at this regulator pressure? I've seen bad inconsistency before by a reg that wasn't balanced right with the hammer spring. It was shooting slower by about 70fps than max and just poor poor consistency like a bell curve almost Similar to what yours is. I then tuned to about 20fps slower than max fps and consistency got down right crazy. I think 30 shots within 6fps. Just an idea not sure if it's that or a bad reg but wouldn't hurt to try it!
