AA S500 Carbine VS What Compares at same price

I'm looking for a small, lighter weight 22 air rifle for basement and backyard plinking. The AA S500 Carbine looks to have a lot of good features that I like. What else is there for me to check out? I have a scuba tank with a lot of free refills, so I'm not too concerned about middle ground shots/fill. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

For a short light weight repeater that's a little quieter but a couple of hundred dollars more buying new I can vouch for the Daystate Regal XL FAC. I owned one for a couple of years and it was a really great rifle. Beautiful wood, great trigger and very accurate. Just an option..

Jim, I had a Walnut .177 S500 for a couple of years. It was the most beautiful rifle I've had to date so far and a shooter too. The addiction was getting the best of me and I sold it along with half a dozen other air rifles last year. It's one of those I'll always regret selling, but heck it would just sit around not getting shot as I still have 5 airguns. I'm a Kalibrgun nut now and 4 of those are Kalibrguns. Of all my guns I probably shoot my Hummingbird the most. The bullpup craze finally hit me after 3 years of air gunning.

So for the money, it would be a hard choice between the S500, S510, or the Daystate Regal as Jimmy mentioned. Also the BSA R-10 would be a great choice if you didn't mind a bottle gun. And I hear good things about the FX Streamline as well.

Check out the Brocock line. The Compatto recently (much to my dismay as I paid full price) is being clearanced out. $800 for a 10 shot repeater with three power settings, LW barrel, molded in picatiny rail for bipod etc, and the Harper Slingshot Hammer, & it comes with a Huggett moderator included. Very quiet gun. For $1K the Bantam is not a bad proposition either. Carbon Fiber bottle.

You might look at the AAS200, it operates on 2600 psi and is a tack driver in .177 or .22. It's nice and light as well as compact. Mine is the .22 hunter version with magazine and is deadly out to 50 yards even though it's not that powerful.

Thanks to you all for the suggestions. I like all the thoughts, especially the Huntsman, just not the new higher price. I'm just having trouble pulling the trigger.

Second the Brocock Compatto, I thought it was a great deal and I paid full price at $1000. By far the best magazine I have ever used out of around 15 guns. The fit and finish was just as nice as my Air Ranger and the slingshot hammer system is extremely effective.
