AA S400 MPR review

I bought a pre-owned AA S400 MPR early model from Baker Airguns during the Black Friday sale. Only because of the price and recommendations of “The O”. I’ve never owned or shot a gun of this nature being a hunter by nature. Well, after getting it and finally getting it fill (another story) l put an Alpha 6 on it and sighted in. I got 120+ shots on the first fill. Having never shot a gun of this nature I was amazed at how effortlessly it shoots. 25 yrds...boring. 30 yrds. one shot, then hold over adjustment...boring. It’s so soft and slow (smooth) that it doesn’t seem right. Of course, same results when determining hold over at 40 and 50 yrds. Honestly, it’s not a gun that I’d shoot on a regular basis only because I’m a hunter/pesterer . But sweet nonetheless!!!

Too late...Odoyle already bought!

That S400 previously belonged to me.

Did you get the fill adapter? Was it in the box tucked into the front space?

Donnie Reed called me asking if it had one when I traded it off, so was just wondering.

The copper spacer that should have been in the bag with the fill adapter will allow you to turn the power up to just under 12 Ft. Lbs. if you wish. There are instructions on the AmericanAirguns site on how to do it as well.

Have Baker send it that bag I parts to me because he didn't receive the fill adapter.

Tell them I'm the Challenger and CZ S200 Bullpup guy.

There's a ding on the stock that looks repaired. Any 411 on that ding?

That spot looks like a patch of filler right?

The rifle came to me like that from Pyramyd almost 3 years ago. I always assumed that they must have repaired a knot hole or defect in the stock before applying the finish. You noticed that the white finish is kind of thin in places, so I just assumed that the stock finishing guy was sluffing off that day.

I did epoxy the weight in the fore end. It helped to balance the rifle for offhand shots for me.

I will be at Baker this Saturday and I will inquire about the fill adapter and bag of bits. It was nothing of importance just some screws a manual and the like. I will PM you what I find out from them.

It may have been shipped off with a different rifle as I traded that 400 and a CZ200 at the same time and they might have got bags of bits confused.

No promises, but I will try to find something out.

I got the bag of parts, fill knob, sights, a metal rail, and copper ring. It’ll a be shipped together. I didn’t get the accessory package originally but called and they found it and sent it to me. I did have to buy an female DIN to foster fitting to be able to fill it from my compressor. Wish I had known about the possible increase in power. But it’s just as well...
