I was thinking about picking up a Air Arms S200 22 cal for an indoor air league, anyone have any input on these. The range is 10yd -30yds with metal animal targets. From what I hear these are nice light but accurate little shooters.
They are great shooters. Here’s mine, older model obtained in 2006. It has the semi adjustable stock, a great working magazine, and a nice mod. I changed out the bolt too. I didn’t do any tuning though. I don’t compete but yes it’s a nice, very quiet, accurate light shooter.
And agree with post below about the bolt handle. Mine is brass.
You hear correctly-they are sweet little guns. My .22 does around 17 ft. lbs (740 fps with a 14.3 gr. pellet) and is a laser out to 45 yards. The 'Hunter' version has a magazine system which works well with JSBs, not so much H&N FTTs. They also operate on a 2600 psi fill which makes the pump or scuba tank friendly. One thing to remember-I've had my bolt handle work loose occasionally, it's best to use some threadlocker on the grub screw and do not overtighten as the bolt handle is aluminum and the threads are easily stripped (ask me how I know this) I also notice mine does not tolerate a dirty barrel so if your accuracy falls off, pull some patches through. Here's mine in the now hard to get "hunter" version from Top Gun Airguns, sadly not available anymore.
The scout stock is quirky but comfortable and points nicely. I wish mine had an oil finish instead of poly but I'd rather shoot it as is than refinish it.
Just to piggy back onto all of the positive comments, I've the .177, couple of Rowan mods for durability. It's won the local 10 meter indoor championship 2 years in a row. It's the gun, not me.
